Gale Zumtrig. As a sign of the body, thin and curved lines are strung together. In essence, these are the manifestation of the body and qualities of the five wisdoms. Because of the dualistic appearance of the horse, subtle winds create differences. Although it now appears as a form of coming and going, moving and shaking, its essence does not change. In this regard, it is said in "Self-Arisen": The luminous body possessing the five wisdoms, clear as light in a continuous stream. That is also coming and going, moving and shaking. So it is said. When seeing these, becoming accustomed to these, and stabilizing these three stages, they occur sequentially in the time of manifestation. First, the expanse is dark blue, with a width of one cubit. Bindus appear as three-linked circular flickers. Thin and flowing light threads, slightly stable for the beginner. In "Lamp Illuminating" it says: The measure of practice is threefold, namely the measure of seeing, the measure of habituation, and the measure of stability, which are shown as three. The measure of seeing is light, the measure of the unchanging dark blue expanse, the clear flickering bindus are the measure of the lamp, the thin and flowing is the measure of awareness, which should be known at the time of seeing. So it is said. Second, the expanse appears as having five colors, about one cubit in width. Bindus flicker, adorned like brocade patterns. Awareness is as stable as a butterfly slowly hovering, which is the measure of habituation. In that very text it says: The measure of habituation is threefold, the five colors arising from dark blue, appearing as about one cubit in width, this is the first measure of habituation. So it is said. In the Lamp Treatise, it says: Bindus flicker like brocade patterns, when they appear at the tip of one's nose, this is the first measure of habituation. So it is said. Awareness is like a butterfly hovering, this is the first measure of habituation. So it is said. Third, it becomes even more stable than that. Second, the characteristic of seeing the wisdom of the luminosity of the nature of reality. By purifying the obscurations arising from the afflicted mind that clings to self on the side of samsara, one realizes selflessness. Therefore, there is no leakage or reversal in the three realms. In "Vast Clarity" it says: Awareness manifestly seeing, by the key point of seeing the truth, the three realms do not revert. So it is said. Not only that, but because the Dharmakaya with eight special qualities is manifested, therefore in "Perfection of Skill" it says: This object of self-arisen awareness.

It is clear in the wisdom lineage, so it is said. In general, although there are various ways to calculate the four appearances and the levels of vidyādharas as being commensurate, my one father thinks that it is also reasonable to correspond this direct perception with the two vidyādharas of the first ground, because it is said in this scripture that one does not regress in the three realms, and because it is said to see the truth. If one does not attain the first ground, those will not work either, and who would entrust to Vajradhara by saying words cut off by the word "direct perception" as a way to break through? It is also said in the decisive treatise: For the fortunate one who has found direct perception, there is no name of samsara in the three realms, the life of the three existences is cut off. Thus, it is said that one does not regress in the three realms. Then, if it is said that there must be twelve hundred mundane qualities, that is also true, just as an arhat has no ornaments, it is okay even if there is no external appearance. The reason is that direct perception means that a little superior discriminating wisdom arises, and it is not right to determine it only by external signs. It is possible that external signs are perceived in various ways due to the differences in realms, and because the way of observing wisdom and the gathering of channels and winds is sometimes uncertain, I say that it is necessary to measure by seeing selflessness directly and by realizing that the wisdom of the dharmakāya's self-awareness is free from dualistic grasping. Fifth, the key point is: It is said in the decisive treatise: The key point of direct perception is body, speech, and mind, and the key points of each must correspond. That is, the body, from the three bodies, should not be constantly transgressed. Speech is learning and abiding, and recitation should also be stable. The mind is accomplished by being placed in the dharmadhātu, and the three key points should not be separated. That is, rely on the door and the object itself, as well as the place of wind and awareness. The door is to look at the three bodies with the eyes, and the object is to be free from obscuration. When the wind and awareness are slow, wisdom is accomplished. So it is said. Sixth, the way to practice is: to place awareness in the realm of the dharmadhātu, it is said in the lamp: The awareness of the dharmadhātu acts with its own object, the vajra itself is the lineage, this should be placed inside. So it is said. Seventh, the benefits of seeing direct perception are: It is said from the past and future: Whoever sees the key point of direct perception, it is not a regression of the three realms. So it is said, and it is said from the vastness: In the appearance of seeing direct perception, there is no name of samsara in the three realms, the life of the three existences is cut off.
