Those who boast of being proficient by reciting some mantras, know that it is just a fake lion with an empty shell. The words of the upright sage who possesses the four reliances, although not revealing ornate language and skillful combinations, easily comprehend through the power of compassion, its vajra-like firm words strike the key to delusion. Thus, it is also praised with conviction. That is also because the Blessed One said that there are thoughts of dwelling in water and fire, etc. Second, seeking heterogeneity, examining it from five aspects: form, shape, color, one or different, permanent or impermanent. First, if the form of cause and effect, coarse and subtle, with or without consciousness, is established anywhere, then things will exist, but because it is not those, form does not exist, therefore the mind is not established anywhere, so it is determined to be formless. Second, the edge and center are illusions caused by relying on assumptions, but in reality, objects are covered by atoms, so it is impossible to establish edge and center on them. If it exists, it is not the smallest. If it does not exist, then there is no basis for establishing shape, so shape is also unreasonable. The mind is not composed of atoms, so it has no shape. If it exists, then after examining whether it exists in any of the forms such as round, square, flat, crescent, triangle, top, bottom, inside, and outside, it is determined that it does not exist anywhere. Third, examine how colors such as white, yellow, red, green, blue, purple, variegated, gray, tan, gray-green, etc. exist. If it is not established anywhere, then it can be determined that the substance of form does not exist. Fourth, in general, if many beings have many minds, then it is unreasonable for worms and other creatures in the body to move together. All beings want to be happy and do not want suffering, so it is unreasonable to think that minds cannot be the same. If all beings are one, then if one dies, all die, and it is unreasonable to have different forms. Also, if one's own body and mind are different, then following and leaving are uncertain. Even if the body is sick and suffering, there is no reason for the mind to accept it. Because there is no mind, the intermediate state and the dream body must exist. If it is one, then when the mind moves, the body also moves, and when the mind knows the object, the body also knows, so it will become clear and aware, and the mind will become composed of atoms, and when the mind is angry, the body will also be, and when the mind is uncomfortable, the body will also have it, the body

Striking pain with pain, etc., will become a contradictory combination. Furthermore, as for the mind itself, if it is one, then these different discriminations are unreasonable. If it is two, then the number of each discrimination will become one mind. No one dares to say that all previous and subsequent discriminations are one, otherwise cause and effect will mature into different things, karma will be accomplished by gods, and the fruit will be enjoyed by offerings. Because the continuums are different, all previous actions, memories, and thoughts will necessarily be forgotten. If it is neither one, and the continuum is also one, then who will abide between the previous and subsequent minds, as a bridge of connection, the generality that is both many and one? If the mind and discrimination are divided into two, like fire and sparks, then how does it focus on what and in what way? Furthermore, it is contradictory for one moment to have two streams of consciousness, so the basis of projection and the projecting mind are impossible. If it is one, then there is no one who is the foundation, and no one who is the builder, so one is unreasonable. Furthermore, the mind of a relative and the mind of joy, and the mind of an enemy and the mind of displeasure, are all considered as two. Since neither one nor other can be established, therefore, the sutra says: 'The realm of formations and the nature of ultimate reality are the nature of being free from one and other. Whatever is conceived as one and other, those are not proper ways of thinking.' Also, if we examine the arising and ceasing of the mind, the previous mind has ceased, and the future has not yet arisen. Which of the three parts of the present that exists is the mind that truly exists? If it is thought that the three are one, then the sun will also become darkness. If it is thought that they are different, then there are three parts, which is also unreasonable, it is regarded as a stream of consciousness. Furthermore, does the continuum meet or not meet? If it meets, then the previous part has ceased, so the present will also cease. If the present moment and the meeting part have not ceased, then the present exists, so the future must also meet with this present, so the present exists. Since the present also produces the three aggregates of the past and future, all previous and subsequent moments are considered as one, so the whole is true. Since many eons will become one moment, who would say and want to establish such a sectarian master and wise person who establishes such distinctions? It is impossible. The fifth is, if we examine permanence and impermanence, if there is no mind, it will become permanent, but the various discriminations are unreasonable. If there is a mind, although discriminations can arise, it will become impermanent. If it is impermanent, cause and effect will be wasted, the moment
