It should be known that this is the view of mantra. It exists as the cause, and manifests as the conventional truth and the form body as the result. The yogi should observe all that is practiced and can be practiced. Then, the speech lion, the actor Vajra Samantabhadra, uttered the sound "Alala Ho" and requested the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets, as follows: Thus, Bhagavan, who is the one who abides in the view of mantra? Who is the one who abides in view and conduct? Who is the one who abides only in conduct? The Lord of Secrets replied: Speech lion, well done! It is good that you ask me about this matter! Speech lion, secret mantra is only the realm of thought of the Tathagatas. Why is that? If the Tathagatas abandon even a small part of the ultimate truth, how can there be conventional truth? Because the two truths are inseparable. Those who abide in view and conduct are those attained by yogis and those who approach the bhumis. Why is that? For yogis in equanimity, for those of small mind, there is the principle of the two truths. In the ultimate sense, the mind is small for the principle of the unborn. In the conventional sense, it is not without the principle of the illusory transformation of the symbolic means mudra, because it possesses both the formless yoga and the form yoga. That yoga of learning is accomplished by relying on the two truths, and is accomplished by the degree of familiarity with the spontaneously accomplished bhumis. The yoga that follows sound, those who are far from meaning, abide only in conduct. Why is that? Because in the inverted conventional, thinking of the pure conventional, even the mandala of the deities is not seen. Speech lion, therefore, one should rely on the Dharma of the inverted conventional of ordinary beings, and know all Dharmas in the mandala of the gods and goddesses of the pure conventional truth. One who can understand the ultimate truth by relying on the pure conventional truth is called a wise person. Speech lion, the maker Vajra

Je Kuntu Zangpo asked: Blessed One, what is the nature of the practice of secret mantras? For example, how should it be expressed? The Blessed One, Lord of Secrets, replied: Lion of Speech, I will explain the ways of practicing secret mantras, listen carefully. I will satisfy you. Lion of Speech, the practice of secret mantras is inconceivable and difficult to fully express, but in short, it can be summarized into ten aspects. What are these ten? They are the practice of secret mantras, the distinctions of secret mantra names, the conduct of secret mantras, the attainments of secret mantras, the places of accomplishment of secret mantras, the recitation of secret mantras, the mudras of secret mantras, the samadhi of secret mantras, the views of secret mantras, and the miracles of secret mantras. Lion of Speech, the examples for these are also ten: illusion, mirage, dream, reflection, city of gandharvas, echo, moon in water, water bubble, visual distortion, and the appearance of a whirling torch. Lion of Speech, how are these so? The characteristic of illusion is that through the efforts of a person and the combination of medicine and mantra, various forms that captivate the senses appear, but its nature is deceptive and does not exist in reality. Similarly, the characteristic of the practice of secret mantras is that through the combination of samadhi, syllables, and substances, signs of accomplishment appear, but these have no inherent nature. The characteristic of a mirage is that when thirsty beings see a mirage in the hot sun, they mistake it for water, but there is no water nature there. Similarly, the distinctions of secret mantra names are that names and terms are assigned to something without a basis for designation, but where can the name itself be pointed out? The characteristic of a dream is that when a person falls asleep, they dream of various kinds of pleasant and unpleasant situations, but upon waking up, nothing can be pointed out. Similarly, the practice of secret mantras, no matter how it is practiced, is completely separate from the object of practice. The characteristic of a reflection is that depending on water, a mirror, or oil, the reflection of a face appears, but the face itself has not moved there. Similarly, the
