Chapter Twenty-Four. Then, the Tathagata, the Blessed One Shakyamuni, bestowed the word "Well done" upon the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, and said: "Well done! Well done! For the sake of accomplishing all mantra holders, subduing all the wicked, and burning all sins, the King of Wrath, who is exceedingly rare and greatly pure, has been spoken. In the future, mantra holders, by merely remembering this once, will accomplish all that is needed. All hopes in their minds will be completely fulfilled. The sight of the noble Avalokiteshvara will be granted. The great accomplishment that includes all places will be greatly revealed." Mantra holders will accomplish all great and vast deeds. In the future, in the latter times, this unique transcendent one will achieve supreme accomplishment, for the accomplishment of deeds has been truly accomplished. Then, the great Yaksha chief named "Wrathful Laughter Blazing Topknot," the great Yaksha who possesses hundreds of thousands of Yakshas, powerful, with a great army, steadfast and a great oppressor of others, who with one palm can shake the great King of Mountains, Mount Sumeru, together with the immeasurable palace of the gods, dwelling in the great ocean, possessing countless retinues, fierce, radiant, powerful, and destroying the armies of others, arose from his seat, went to where the Blessed One was, approached the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One, and spoke thus: "Blessed One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, has spoken the dharani of the Great Wrathful King, the king of mantras, the exceedingly terrifying secret mantra, and therefore, Blessed One, together with the immeasurable palace, has been burned! Quickly go and take refuge in the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Arya Avalokiteshvara! The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Arya Avalokiteshvara is your refuge, ally, savior, and support. In this way, you will not cause thousands upon thousands of Yakshas, including their retinues, to lose their lives. Alas, great leader of the Yakshas, go quickly and take refuge! Then, the great leader of the Yaksha army, whose angry roar blazed from the crown of his head, realizing that the Bhagavan had been released, went to where the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Avalokiteshvara was, weeping and fainting, extending his arms, prostrating at his feet, and said: Oh, Bhagavan, please save me! Greatly compassionate one, please save me! Please grant me life! Oh, Bhagavan, I am being burned, completely burned up! You have eaten many women, men, boys, and girls, and you have damaged the eyes of many holy beings. You have obstructed many vidyas, mandalas, and elaborate rituals. You have made those who have attained accomplishment disappear, and you have also made those who have not attained accomplishment disappear. You have made many fortunate ones disappear, and you have made the unfortunate ones exist. You have eliminated non-harming, life, and the happiness of enjoyment, and you have increased harm and the complete destruction of life. You have completely abandoned good speech, and you have increased evil speech and stinginess. To all vidyadharas and all sentient beings, you are the source of darkness and complete destruction. You have spread all malicious thoughts, and you have destroyed all roots of virtue. In the world including the gods, you are an extremely repulsive sinner. Together with the abode of Yama's world, together with the maras, together with Brahma, you alone are malicious, born to create obstacles. Because of this reason, you have obtained such a situation. Therefore, O Lord of Yakshas, commit to vows, precepts, and pledges, and practice virtuous Dharma! However, I shall become your refuge and ally. I shall completely liberate you from the torment of suffering, unbearable bonds, and the fear of unbearable burning fire. I shall lead you onto the path of higher realms.
