三千大千世界的龙王，侍从无边大海云彩排列的威严坛城，如伞般的国王祈请道：世尊，未来之时未来之世，在此赡部洲不降雨之时，说什么能使大雨连绵降下？在不悦意的时代，在灾害发生的时代，在非法之人争斗的时代，在瘟疫疾病和灾害发生的时代，在疾病和死亡的时代，在凶星运行的时代，以及瘟疫疾病、损害和一切灾害完全平息，如此这般的陀罗尼真言之根本，请您宣说。请以佛的加持力来加持。祈请您宣说，什么能真实劝请一切龙族，能令诸天欢喜，能摧毁一切魔，能使一切众生的恐惧消散，能遣除一切灾害，能带来寂静和安乐，能使凶星所作之事完全平息，以及世尊所说的五种降雨障碍全部消除，能使赡部洲降下甘霖，如此这般的陀罗尼真言之根本，世尊您是至尊，具有大悲心，为了利益一切众生，具有慈悲心，请您宣说。世尊如来，我向您祈请！如是祈请后，世尊对龙王侍从无边大海云彩排列的威严坛城，如伞般的国王说道：龙王，你为了利益一切众生，为了利益和安乐而向如来祈请，太好了，太好了！龙王，因此好好地仔细听，记在心里，从大悲心中生出，具有大龙之声，名为增长勇猛顶髻的陀罗尼，为了利益一切众生，为了利益和安乐

The Naga king of the three thousand great thousand worlds, attended by the immeasurable ocean of clouds arrayed in a majestic mandala, the king like an umbrella, prayed: O Bhagavan, in future times, in future ages, when it does not rain in this Jambudvipa, what should be said to make great rains fall continuously? In times of displeasure, in times of calamity, in times when people fight due to non-dharma, in times of plague and disease, and in times of calamity, in times of disease and death, in times when inauspicious stars dwell, and when all plagues, harms, and calamities are completely pacified, please explain the basis of such dharani mantras. Please bless with the blessings of the Buddha. Please explain what will truly urge all nagas, delight all the gods, destroy all demons, dispel all fears of all sentient beings, avert all calamities, bring peace and well-being, completely pacify what is done by inauspicious stars, and eliminate all five obstacles to rain spoken by the Bhagavan, and cause the rains to fall well in this Jambudvipa, such dharani mantra bases, O Bhagavan, you are supreme, endowed with great compassion, for the benefit of all sentient beings, endowed with loving-kindness, please explain. O Bhagavan Tathagata, I pray to you! After praying thus, the Bhagavan spoke to the Naga king, attended by the immeasurable ocean of clouds arrayed in a majestic mandala, the king like an umbrella, saying: O Naga king, it is good, good that you pray to the Tathagata for the sake of all sentient beings, for benefit and happiness! O Naga king, therefore, listen well and carefully, and keep it in mind, born from great compassion, possessing the sound of a great dragon, the dharani called "Increasing Courageous Crest," for the sake of all sentient beings, for benefit and happiness.
