Then you will be liberated from that. Like this, the Dharani of Amitayus, which has great benefits, wherever it is thoroughly applied, in that place, great peace will occur. Recite it twenty-one times completely on a soapberry tree, and if you use it to brush your teeth, you will be free from disease, intelligent, and long-lived. Recite it twenty-one times completely into three handfuls of water at three times, and if you drink it, you will be completely liberated from all diseases and will live long. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the noble Avalokiteshvara, circumambulated the Bhagavan Amitayus and prayed, saying: "Bhagavan, how should a son or daughter of good family construct a stupa? How should they accomplish images and so forth? How should they perform a fire offering here?" The Bhagavan replied: "Well spoken is your question! Great hero, well done! For the sake of benefiting and loving all sentient beings, listen attentively with one-pointed mind. Then, the Bhagavan entered into the Samadhi called 'The Glory of Universal Light Immeasurable,' and spoke this Dharani called 'Amitayus of all the Tathagatas,' as follows: Om, Amite. (Tibetan: ཨོྃ་ཨ་མི་ཏེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओṃ अमिते, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ amite, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable.) Om, Amitodbhave. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏོདྦྷ་བེ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमिताभवे, Sanskrit Romanization: amitābhava, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Born.) Om, Amita Sambhave. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏ་སཾ་བྷ་ཝེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमितसंभवे, Sanskrit Romanization: amitasaṃbhave, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Produced.) Om, Amita Vikrante. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏ་བི་ཀྲཱན་ཏེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमितविक्रान्ते, Sanskrit Romanization: amitavikrānte, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Pervading.) Om, Amita Gadre. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏ་གཱ་དྲེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमितगाद्रे, Sanskrit Romanization: amitagādre, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Firm.) Om, Amita Gamini. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏ་གཱ་མི་ནི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमितगामिनि, Sanskrit Romanization: amitagāmini, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Goer.) Om, Amita Ayur Dade. (Tibetan: ཨ་མི་ཏ་ཨཱ་ཡུརྡ་དེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमिताऽऽयुर्दे, Sanskrit Romanization: amitā''yurde, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Immeasurable Light Giver of Life.) Om, Gagana Kirti Kare. (Tibetan: ག་ག་ན་ཀཱིརྟི་ཀ་རེ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: गगनकीर्तिकरे, Sanskrit Romanization: gaganakīrtikare, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Space Fame Maker.) Om, Sarva Klesha Kshayam Kariye Svaha. (Tibetan: སརྦ་ཀླེ་ཤ་ཀྵ་ཡཾ་ཀ་རི་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: सर्वक्लेशक्षयंकरिये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: sarvakleśakṣayaṃkariye svāhā, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, All Afflictions Destroyer, Accomplish, Svaha.) With this Dharani, the clay for making the stupa, the plastering and so forth, and up to the erecting of the umbrella, should all be completely fulfilled. The ritual for this is: The stupa ritual is the most excellent, thereafter it should be truly explained. Adorned with jewels of many natures such as gold, sapphire, silver, ruby, etc., residing on a lotus seat of twelve finger-widths. On its four sides are the four guardians of the world holding victory banners in their hands. And the sons of the gods of the pure realm holding flowers, incense, and perfume. Indra, the king of the gods, holding an umbrella in his hand. On the two sides, right and left, are Avalokiteshvara and Vajrapani, both holding white yak-tail fans in their hands. Such a ritual should be performed, circumambulating the stupa to the right.

With the application of a circle, it should be written on the petals of a lotus. Write the dharani called "Victorious Topknot of All Thus-Gone Ones" and make it have the essence of relics. Sprinkle it with water mixed with fragrant perfumes, offer it with fragrant flowers, and make offerings a thousand times. On the eighth day of the white side, fast and, with the mind of benefiting all sentient beings, give the gift of life and wisdom, and recite it a thousand times. If done every month, one can live a thousand years in six months. If done regularly for a year, one can live a hundred thousand years. If done regularly, one can live an inexhaustible lifespan and be endowed with power. One cannot be defeated by anyone and becomes the supreme sky-faring topknot, unmatched by gods and demigods and humans. Then, another ritual is to take earth in an extremely auspicious place, mix it with fragrant perfumes, and build a stupa. Starting from a thousand, up to five or one. Each day, invite the Victorious Topknot, which belongs to the stupa, to truly reside, and as it is said, make vast offerings and recite it from a thousand times up to seven times. Each day, do it for the sake of the dharani that gives life and wisdom, and give the root of virtue in common to all sentient beings. Binding and beating sentient beings, and so on, should be avoided. Each month, make double offerings and recite eight hundred times, doing it with one's own samaya being the same as oneself. Through this ritual, one will be without the eight untimely deaths. One will become intelligent, without disease, live to be a hundred years old, be pleasing to all beings, and be able to remember one's previous lives. When the time of death comes, like a snake shedding its skin, in one's own body, one will be reborn in the beautiful and blissful realm of Sukhavati. Moreover, one will not be reborn in the hells, the birthplaces of animals, and the evil realms of Yama. One will not even hear the sound of hell in one's ear, let alone see the ripening of the fruit. These are the places.
