于法之所应知。于如来之塔庙应知。其后阎魔法王于彼夜间，天明之后，往诣世尊处，以天花、衣服、珍宝等供养世尊，殷勤供养后，绕世尊七匝，顶礼世尊足下，如是禀白：世尊，此陀罗尼具大威力，饶益甚大。世尊，我亦恒常不间断地随逐彼有情，于一切时中，为守护及周遍救护之故而住。我当令彼有情远离一切地狱。世尊，我定当报恩，绝不忘恩。其后，四大天王绕世尊三匝，如是禀白世尊：世尊，祈请广说此陀罗尼之详细仪轨及应作之仪轨。其后，世尊告彼四大天王曰：谛听，我当宣说此陀罗尼之行事仪轨。为诸有情短命之故，若善男子或善女子于每月十五日沐浴，着净衣，行斋戒，诵持千遍，则彼寿命已尽之有情亦可延寿，远离疾病，获得一切业障清净。彼有情亦将从地狱等一切恶趣中获得解脱。 乃至对于已转生为畜生之有情，亦应于鸟类之耳边宣说此陀罗尼之音声。当知彼之恶趣即是最后一次。若有人为重病所困，诸医师已舍弃不治，如是亦将从彼病中获得解脱。彼之一切恶趣之生将断绝。死后亦将往生极乐世界。当知彼即是彼之最后胎生。彼无论转生于何处，皆将从莲花心中化生。

One should recognize it as a place of Dharma. One should recognize it as a stupa of the Tathagata. Then, Yama, the King of Dharma, went to the Blessed One's place the next morning after that night. He made offerings to the Blessed One with divine flowers, clothes, jewels, and so on, and after paying homage, he circumambulated the Blessed One seven times. He touched the Blessed One's feet and said this: "Blessed One, this dharani is very powerful and beneficial. Blessed One, I will always follow that sentient being without interruption, and I will always stay to protect and completely save them. I will turn them away from all hells. Blessed One, I will repay kindness, and I will not be ungrateful." Then, the Four Great Kings circumambulated the Blessed One three times and said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, please explain in detail the rituals of this dharani and the methods of practice." Then, the Blessed One said to the Four Great Kings: "Listen, I will explain the methods of practice for this dharani. For the sake of sentient beings with short lives, if a son or daughter of good family bathes on the fifteenth day of the month, wears clean clothes, fasts, and recites it a thousand times, then even that sentient being whose life is exhausted will be revived. They will be free from disease. They will obtain complete purification of all obscurations. That sentient being will be completely liberated from all the lower realms, including hell. Even for a creature that has gone to the animal realm, the sound of this dharani should be proclaimed in the ear of a bird. One should know that this lower realm of theirs is the last. If someone is afflicted by a serious illness and the doctors have given up on them, then they will be completely liberated from that illness. All births in lower realms will be cut off. After death, they will be born in the realm of Sukhavati. One should know that this is their last birth from a womb. Wherever they are born, they will be born only from the heart of a lotus."

Will be born by transformation. In all lifetimes, one will remember past lives. For those sentient beings who commit evil deeds and are about to die, recite this dharani twenty-one times over mustard seeds for their sake. Then, scatter the mustard seeds over their remains. Even if they have been born in the hell realms, the animal realm, the realm of Yama, the preta realm, or other evil destinies, they will be liberated from those evil destinies by the power of this dharani. Having been liberated from those realms, they will also be born as gods. Whoever recites this twenty-one times in a single day will be worthy of being worshiped by the great people of the world. One will have a long life, be free from illness, experience happiness, always be full of joy, and attain great nirvana. Having died and passed away, one will be born in the blissful realm of the world. Then, one will go to various different Buddhafields. There, one will meet with the Tathagatas. All the Tathagatas will also praise one. All the Tathagatas will also prophesy about one. In all the Buddhafields, one will illuminate the world. The mudra is made by joining the palms of the ten fingers, bending the two index fingers, joining them with the two thumbs, and then remembering this dharani. Make a square mandala, scatter various flowers, burn various incenses, place the right knee on the ground, visualize all the Tathagatas in samadhi and prostrate, and then recite the dharani eight hundred times. By reciting it once in this way, one will have worshiped, honored, and paid homage to all the Tathagatas equal to the grains of sand in eighty-eight kotis of hundreds of thousands of Ganges Rivers, and will offer to all the Tathagatas with clouds of great offerings. All of them will utter the sound "Excellent!" That sentient being will be the son born from the very self of all the Tathagatas.
