Then, placing the sacred Dharma scripture in front, fumigating it with fragrant incense, sitting in the lotus position, holding an iron wheel, vajra, or sword, and sitting on a seat spread with kusha grass, one should recite the mantra until the flame ignites. The flame will ignite at midnight or at sunrise. When the flame ignites, great signs will appear, such as the earth shaking, and other great signs similar to the coming of the Buddha. At that moment, the blessings of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will emit a radiant light called "binding." Thereafter, all vidyadharas with their retinues, the daughters of vidyadharas with their companions, and the great king of vidyadharas with his retinue, will, through this empowerment, gain unobstructedness in all things, be worshiped by all the gods, and be able to go to the Buddha-fields according to the merit they have accumulated, make offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and also gain the power to fully ripen sentient beings. Without abandoning this very body, one will gain the ability to follow the conduct of a Bodhisattva. According to one's strength and capacity, one will gradually conquer the stages of the Bodhisattva, until one attains the state of perfect and complete enlightenment of a Buddha. These are the skillful means of a Bodhisattva of the Mahayana path, entering the door of secret mantra, mainly practicing the skillful means of the ritual. At the foot of a mountain or by a riverbank, or on an island in a lake, or under a single tree, or in a monastery, or in a temple, or at a place of a temple, or in front of a stupa with relics, or in front of a statue, or even in a temple, house, or secluded place, one should practice in an empty and solitary place in front of a painted cloth. If possible, in empty and solitary places such as mountains, abandoning all distractions, even in a house, room, secluded place, or storehouse, one should recite until the signs appear. Then, as before, one should practice with a wheel, vajra, etc., as one desires. One hundred thousand.
