And, just as one dislikes power, violence, bullying, arrogance, and doing evil, all sentient beings are the same. Therefore, even if a Bodhisattva loses his own body and life, he will not harm sentient beings in an improper way. Just as I am respected and offered to by others, or praised with sweet words, just as I like happiness, I should also give clothes, food, drink, bedding, medicine, and all comfortable items to sentient beings. If I do a great deed, or for the sake of the Buddha, the Dharma, or the Sangha, or if I am unable to accomplish something and the matter is not successful, and therefore I am unhappy and tormented by sorrow, then if a wise and intelligent person sees that I am unhappy and sorrowful because the matter I am doing has not been successful, he says to me: 'Good man, do not be unhappy, I will be your companion in accomplishing the matter, I will accomplish this matter as you wish.' Hearing these words, I will generate a very happy mind. Therefore, I should be a companion in doing things that benefit and bring happiness to sentient beings. Just as I am harmed by a king, a thief, water, or fire, or arrested, bound, or imprisoned by ministers, etc., and therefore feel unhappy and sorrowful, then if a wise and intelligent person sees me so tormented by sorrow, he says to me with pleasant and sweet words: 'Do not be sad, for you, I will pray to the king or the great minister, and if necessary, I will give wealth, or use various methods to free you from the suffering of unhappiness.' Hearing these words, just hearing these words, my heart will be happy. Therefore, a Bodhisattva should strive to learn all the arts and crafts that should be learned, until he reaches the point of mastery. For example, one should learn knowledge, crafts, music, games, arithmetic, mathematics, illusion spells, medicine, cattle, horses, vehicles, and hostile actions, etc.

I, learning to be skilled in warfare and debate, and having thus learned to be skilled in any art, do not act contrary to the wishes of many people, kings, and great ministers. Besides that, there are also the means of enjoyment such as clothes, wealth, food, things to eat, things to drink, jewels, bracelets, bodily ornaments, gold, silver, beryl, coral, realgar, turquoise, pearls, amber, precious gems, yaks, horses, vehicles, servants, workers, wives, and even wells, bathing ponds, precious and excellent mansions, and various kinds of enjoyable things, but that Bodhisattva has no arrogance or pride. Thus, he is skilled in all arts, and also possesses hundreds of thousands of treasure houses of precious things. He also has yaks, horses, and vehicles, and countless beautiful young women. He also has excellent mansions, wells, and bathing ponds, and although he has any desired enjoyment, he is not attached to it, but always delights in having few desires and being content, and is fond of dwelling peacefully in meditation in remote monasteries, mountains, gardens, and under trees. Although he speaks and talks with many people, his mind is always engaged in the door of antidotes. Although he acts according to the individual's personality and behavior, he gives away precious jewels for the benefit of sentient beings, and does not do anything that harms or is not beneficial to sentient beings. If the poor, destitute, and miserable come to beg from the Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva gives them alms according to their wishes. If any sentient being has faith and devotion to the Buddha's Dharma, and for the sake of approaching, respecting, and making offerings to the Bodhisattva, performs service and attendance, does the work of washing feet, or does the work of washing and massaging the body, or does sweeping and dusting, or prepares toothpicks and bathwater, or does the work of laying out bedding and shaking out bedding, or lights lamps in the evening and at dawn, or offers ghee to the boy, and in the morning offers food such as Thana Pana, Pushena, and Khadane, or offers drinking beverages such as Yulishi.
