两地亦一心，譬如鸟之双翼，身之双足，首之双目，若如是，何故瞒我而不语？国王对妃子说：汝不知耶？大臣罗睺罗心生恶念，诬陷国王，亦弑父王，又害两兄长之命，现在披甲执兵，将攻我来。我将逃往他国，如是说已，抱起王子德顿，便起程了。其后妃子亦追随国王而去。其时国王为忧愁所困，心绪烦乱，走了十四日路程，迷失了道路。其路难行，草亦粗糙，草水亦无。数日过去，粮亦尽矣。最初隐瞒，国王独自出行，亦未备足七日之粮，故而迷路。三人亦食之，走了十四日路程，尚有长路，粮已尽矣。其时国王与妃子放声大哭。唉！唉！真是苦啊！自出生以来，从未经历如此之事，如今在此经历。如今在此受苦受穷啊！如是说着，便以手击头。于地打滚，身上沾满尘土，口中念诵此等哀叹之语。我等前世造作何等罪恶不善之业？抑或杀害父母与阿罗汉？抑或诽谤正法？抑或离间和合僧众？抑或为猎人与渔夫？抑或改造斗升，掠夺他人？抑或享用僧众之财物？造作何业，以致遭受如是痛苦？如是哀叹，稍作停留，若敌来临，必有丧命之虞。起程赶路，又为饥渴所逼，命在旦夕矣。国王与妃子为如是痛苦所逼，放声大哭，倒地昏厥。其后过了许久，醒来后心想，我等三人将一同死于此处。

The two lands are also of one mind, like the two wings of a bird, the two legs of a body, or the two eyes of a head. If it is so, why do you hide it from me and not speak? At first, he hid it and the king set out alone, but he did not prepare enough provisions for seven days, so he lost his way. The three of them also ate it. Since birth, I have never experienced such a thing, but now I am experiencing it here. Now I am suffering and poor here! As he said this, he struck his head with his hand. He rolled on the ground and his body was covered with dust, and he uttered these words of lamentation. What sinful and unwholesome deeds have we done in our previous lives? Or have we killed our parents and arhats? Or have we slandered the sacred Dharma? Or have we caused dissension among the harmonious Sangha? Or have we been hunters and fishermen? Or have we altered the scales and measures and robbed others? Or have we used the wealth of the Sangha? What have we done to suffer such pain? As he lamented, he paused for a moment, for if the enemy arrived, there would certainly be a danger to his life. Setting out on the road, he was threatened by hunger and thirst, and his life was in danger. The king and the queen were overwhelmed by such suffering, and they cried out and wept, and fell to the ground and fainted. After a long time, they woke up and thought, the three of us will die here together.
