Then Prince Good Deeds spoke in a small voice to his father the king, saying, "From here to the other side, there is only a day's journey left. I am weak and unable to move, so I will abandon my life here. King and queen, do not speak of abandoning my corpse here together like wicked, evil people. If you love me and have compassion, please act in accordance with my wishes. Please remove all the remaining flesh from my bones and go to the other side." Then the king, as the prince had requested, removed all the remaining flesh from the joints and bones, dividing it into three portions. Two portions were eaten by the king and queen, and one portion was eaten by the prince himself. The king and queen then set out on their journey. Prince Good Deeds stood up and watched the king and queen leave. The king and queen cried out and wept as they departed, and Prince Good Deeds, until he could no longer see the king and queen, gazed at them with loving affection, without blinking his eyes. After a long time, he fell to the ground again. Because of the smell of flesh and blood, many bees and flesh-eating flies gathered from all directions, devouring and stinging the prince, who was reduced to a mere skeleton, and he groaned in agony. At that time, the prince's last remaining breath had not yet ceased, and he cried out, making this aspiration, "May all my past unwholesome deeds be purified and exhausted by this. From now on, I will not commit evil deeds. By offering my body to my parents and making this gift, may my parents have eleven times more merit than before, so that they may sleep peacefully, awaken peacefully, not have bad dreams, be protected by the gods, be respected by people, and be free from quarrels and rob

When the prince made this aspiration, the earth and sky also shook in six ways. The sun also became dim. Wild beasts and mountain deer also ran around in fear. The ocean also churned violently. Mount Meru also shook and tilted. The thirty-three (त्रयस्त्रिंशत्, trayastriṃśat, Thirty-three) heavens also shook violently. At that time, Indra (Śakra, Shijia), the lord of the gods, descended to the desire realm gods and Jambudvīpa (Jambudvīpa, Jambudvipa) and other places, and in order to frighten Prince Good Deeds, he transformed into the bodies of lions, tigers, wolves, etc., widened his eyes, opened his mouth, raised his hair, and roared loudly, threatening the prince as if to pounce on him. Or do you want to become the king of Brahma (Brahmā, Brahma)? Do you want to become the lord of the gods, or the king of men, or the Chakravartin? The prince said: I do not want to become the king of demons, or Brahma, the lord of the gods, the king of men, or the Chakravartin, but in order to liberate all sentient beings, I want to attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment (anuttarā-samyak-saṃbodhi, Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi).
