Having truly seen views that are contentious and harmful, that view is abandoned, and other views are not taken up. Thus, that view is abandoned, discarded, and eliminated, and other views do not continue, are not closely taken, and do not arise. Son of the one with the nature of fire, this body is with form, coarse, arising from the cause of the four great elements. For this, the noble disciple dwells constantly and uninterruptedly observing arising and ceasing. He dwells observing detachment, observing cessation, and observing abandonment. If the noble disciple dwells constantly and uninterruptedly observing arising and ceasing, then desire for the body, love for the body, cherishing of the body, dwelling in the body, attachment to the body, and excessive attachment to the body, his mind will not be subdued and dwell. Son of the one with the nature of fire, this feeling is of three kinds. What are the three? Namely, pleasant feeling, painful feeling, and neither painful nor pleasant feeling. The noble disciple who is learned, when experiencing pleasant feeling, at that time, his painful feeling and neither painful nor pleasant feeling both cease. At that time, the noble disciple experiences only pleasant feeling, and that pleasant feeling is also impermanent and of the nature of cessation. The noble disciple, when experiencing painful feeling, at that time, his pleasant feeling and neither painful nor pleasant feeling both cease. At that time, the noble disciple experiences only painful feeling, and that painful feeling is also impermanent and of the nature of cessation. The noble disciple, when experiencing neither painful nor pleasant feeling, at that time, his pleasant feeling and painful feeling both cease. At that time, the noble disciple experiences only neither painful nor pleasant feeling, and that neither painful nor pleasant feeling is also impermanent and of the nature of cessation. Thus.
