Thus it happened. He performed and accumulated the deeds of not being eaten by demons. Therefore, he made such offerings to the Tathagata. Monks, do you wish to listen? Blessed One, we wish to listen. Monks, in the past, there was a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, Tamer of Men, Supreme, Teacher of Gods and Humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, named Brahma, who appeared in the world. Then, the Samyak-sambuddha Brahma, attended by sixty-two thousand Arhats, came from a wandering place to a royal palace. A king, crowned from the Kshatriya lineage, heard that the Samyak-sambuddha Brahma, attended by sixty-two thousand Arhats, had come from a wandering place to his country. Having heard this, the king, with great wealth and power, went to where the Blessed One Samyak-sambuddha Brahma was, and having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Samyak-sambuddha Brahma, and then sat to one side. Having sat to one side, that king, crowned from the Kshatriya lineage, paid proper attention to the dharmas that the Blessed One practiced in order to attain Bodhi. After that, the king became joyful, rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and, with palms joined, turned towards where the Blessed One was, and said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, I wish to serve the Blessed One with robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and medical supplies. Would the Blessed One allow me to stay in this royal palace for three months with the monastic community of hearers? Then, the Samyak-sambuddha Brahma did not say anything to the king, and thus allowed it. After that, the king, crowned from the Kshatriya lineage, had a sandalwood mansion built for the Blessed One. He used robes and various ornaments

Having adorned it, scattered various kinds of flowers, and fumigated it with incense burners, they offered it to the Blessed One together with the Sangha of Shravakas. For three months, they satisfied them with delicious food, offered various kinds of excellent garments, and also made aspirations for unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. The Blessed One said: "Monks, what do you think? Who was the king of the Kshatriya caste who was crowned at that time? It was I. Because of the ripening of the karma of making such offerings to the perfectly enlightened Buddha, I experienced immense and boundless happiness in Samsara. Now, when I have attained unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, I have also made such offerings. Therefore, monks, you should train yourselves in this way: respect the teacher, honor him, revere him, and make offerings to him. Having respected the teacher, honored him, revered him, and made offerings, abide in reliance on him. Monks, you should train yourselves in this way." After the Blessed One had spoken thus, the monks rejoiced and greatly praised what the Blessed One had said. The Hundred Parables of the Like of the Wise One, Volume Four, entitled "Bathing": The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, were respected by kings, great ministers, wealthy people, palace attendants, merchants, captains, gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas. They were honored, revered, and offered to. The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who were offered to and known by gods, nagas, yakshas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, possessed great merit and obtained robes, food, bedding, seats, medicine, and medical supplies. Together with the Sangha of Shravakas, they were dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove of Anathapindika in the Jeta Prince's Garden.

When they were in Tshe Mnyan, about five hundred merchants entered the path to the monastery, but they lost their way and went to a sandy place. They were exhausted from the fatigue of the road, and their provisions were depleted. At noon, they were scorched by the sun and rolled on the ground like dried fish, experiencing intense suffering, unbearable pain, heat, and unpleasant feelings. They prayed to thousands of gods, such as Gulang, the water god, Kubera, Indra, etc., but none of them could save them. Among them was a layperson who knew the teachings of the Buddha. He said to those merchants: "Take refuge in the Buddha!" Then, everyone unanimously took refuge. At that time, there was nothing that the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, did not know, did not see, did not understand, or did not comprehend. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, possessed great compassion, were engaged in benefiting the world, possessed a single protector, were the sole heroes, were unparalleled, did not speak in two ways, dwelt in tranquility and insight, manifested the three knowledges, were well-trained in the three trainings, were skilled in the foundation of the three disciplines, had crossed the four rivers, had extremely firm soles of their feet on the four miraculous legs, had long been familiar with the four objects of gathering, were fearless with the four fearlessnesses, proclaimed the great lion's roar of the supreme flock, had completely abandoned the five hindrances, had completely transcended the five realms of existence, possessed six qualities, had perfected the six paramitas, dwelt in the six things to be constantly abiding, were rich in the flowers of the seven branches of enlightenment, taught the eightfold path, were skilled in the nine successive absorptions, possessed the power of the ten powers, were universally expanded by fame in the ten directions, and were even more superior than those who wield power over a hundredfold. According to the Dharma, three times during the day and three times during the night, with the Buddha's eye, they looked upon the world, who is declining? Who is prospering? Who is impoverished? Who is miserable? Who has harm? Who is impoverished, miserable, and has harm? Who is inclined towards the lower realms?
