Then another messenger was sent, sending two snakes of the same thickness, length, and similarity, and ordered: Distinguish these two snakes, which one is male and which one is female. King Rabsel and the ministers gathered together to discuss, but no one could recognize them. Then, that householder asked the bride at home, and the bride instructed: Take a soft cloth, wet it, and put it on the snake. Whichever is female, it will lie still without moving. Whichever is male, it will be unbearable and unable to stay still. How does it manifest? The one that becomes female will like softness and lightness. The one that becomes male, because it is naturally angry, cannot bear softness and cannot lie down, so it can be recognized. That householder told the king like that, and did as the bride said, and distinguished well which one was male and which one was female. He told the messenger: This is male, this is female. Just like that, there is no mistake. Then, that king was very happy and gave him many precious jewels as a reward. Then he sent a piece of wood of the same length, the same thickness, no difference, no knots, and no traces of axes and adzes, and ordered: Distinguish the head and tail of this wood. That messenger returned to his country and reported to the king in detail, and that king rewarded the messenger with many treasures, saying, "For that great king, there are wise ministers, endowed with wisdom, offer these, and everything will be reconciled." King Rab gsal rgyal was very happy that it had become like that, and asked that householder, "How did you understand and know these things?" The householder reported, "It is not I who understood this, but I have a wise bride, it is she who understood it." The king heard these words and was very happy, and then ordered, "That householder's bride, from now on, let her be my sister." That householder's bride later became pregnant, and after nine months, she gave birth to thirty-two eggs, and from each egg was born a handsome and lovely boy. When those boys grew up, they were incomparably brave, and one person could withstand a thousand people. 没有越过（这个界限）。拉姆参玛的儿子生气了，骑着大象，将大臣的儿子连同马车一起扔到了桥下。大臣的儿子身体和腿脚受伤，哭着回到家中，对父母说：拉姆参玛的儿子无缘无故地这样伤害我，全身都受伤了。这样禀告了。大臣非常不高兴，心想：那些儿子们非常强壮，而且和国王关系密切，难以争辩，但还是要对他们使个诡计。于是用七宝做成了三十二根手杖，每根手杖里都装了一把锋利的剑，然后把这些手杖分给三十二个年轻人，并命令说：你们正值青春年华，到了玩耍的时候，为了你们玩耍，做了这些手杖，你们拿着玩吧。那些年轻人也非常高兴，拿了那些手杖，各自拿着。国王的法律规定，与国王相见时，不允许携带武器。他们拿着手杖来到国王的侍从处，大臣就向国王进谗言说：拉姆参玛的三十二个儿子年轻力壮，力气之大，一个人能敌得过一千人，他们想对国王不利。但是国王并不相信他们，大臣又禀告说：我先前禀告的是真的，绝不是虚假的。这些年轻人手中拿着的手杖里都藏着剑，显然是要作乱。正如大臣所禀告的那样，查看那些年轻人的手杖，发现里面确实有武器，于是互相呼喊，用武力抓住他们，全部杀掉了。砍下那些年轻人的头，将三十二个头颅装在一个箱子里，封好口，送到（国王的）姐妹那里。当时，那些年轻人的母亲请来了佛和僧众，国王送来的箱子也到了，心想：里面大概是用来做供养的器具吧。

They did not cross (this boundary). The son of Lha Tsam Ma became angry and, riding an elephant, threw the son of the great minister, along with his chariot, under the bridge. The minister's son, with his body and legs injured, cried and returned home, saying to his parents: "The son of Lha Tsam Ma has harmed me in this way for no reason, and my whole body is injured." Thus he reported. The great minister became very unhappy and thought: "Those sons are very strong and close to the king, so it is difficult to argue with them. However, I must play a trick on them." So he made thirty-two canes out of the seven precious substances, and put a sharp sword inside each cane. Then he gave one to each of the thirty-two young men and commanded them, saying: "You are in your youth and it is time to play. I have made these canes for you to play with. Take them and play!" The young men were very happy and took the canes, each holding one. The king's law does not allow weapons to be carried when meeting the king. As they stood in attendance on the king with their canes, the minister slandered them to the king, saying: "The thirty-two sons of Lha Tsam Ma are young and strong, and each of them is capable of defeating a thousand men. They intend to harm the king." However, the king did not believe them, so the minister reported again: "What I reported earlier is true, and not false. These young men are holding canes in their hands, and each cane contains a sword, so it is clear that they intend to cause trouble." As the minister had reported, when the young men's canes were examined, it was found that they did indeed contain weapons. So they were seized by force and all killed. The young men's heads were cut off and placed in a box, which was sealed and sent to the (king's) sister. At that time, the mothers of the young men invited the Buddha and the Sangha, and the box sent by the king arrived. They thought: "Perhaps there are implements for making offerings inside."
