As soon as it made the vow, the bull was slaughtered by the people, some cooked it, and some chopped it up and ate it. The old woman was also very happy after being full of beef, and said: 'There have been such guests before, but none have been as beneficial as today.' At that time, that bull was King Rab Sel Gya. At that time, those who stole the bull were the thirty-two sons of the goddess Lha Tsham Ma. At that time, that old householder woman was not their mother, but because of the ripened result, she was always slaughtered for five hundred lifetimes. At that time, that old woman, just because of rejoicing and being happy, always became their mother, and just because of that little bit of sadness, she was extremely tormented, and now this matter has met with me and obtained the result.' Kungawo again folded his palms and requested the Blessed One: 'What kind of virtuous deeds did they do, that they were born into a great and noble lineage, possessed wealth, and were brave and full of talent?' The Blessed One said: 'In the past, when the Buddha Od Srung descended into the world, there was an old woman who was very devoted to the Three Jewels. She bought a lot of incense, mixed it with butter, and always used it to anoint stupas. On a road, thirty-two people passed by the old woman who was anointing the stupa, and they helped the old woman anoint the stupa. The old woman said to those thirty-two people: 'By the merit of you helping me anoint the stupa, wherever you are reborn, may you have a good appearance and strength.' They also happily did the work of anointing the stupa, and said: 'We are able to increase virtuous deeds because of this old woman. Wherever we are reborn, may we be born into a noble and powerful family and be wealthy.'

At that time, the armies, having heard the Buddha's teachings, all their minds of hatred were pacified, and they said, "The great king is also not at fault, these people are the ripening of past karma, that they have become like this just from killing one bull. Having said this, they abandoned their weapons, approached the king, and confessed their offenses, and the king did not pursue their guilt. At that time, the Blessed One told this story of the past to these four assemblies, and extensively taught the sacred Dharma. He also taught that virtuous actions should be diligently practiced, and non-virtuous actions should not be done. He also extensively taught the Four Noble Truths, and many assemblies, having heard this, all attained the fruit, and rejoiced in the words of the Blessed One, and were exceedingly happy.
