There are also other evil spirits, those are also difficult to tame, with great magical powers, holding the Sutra Pitaka, holding the Vinaya Pitaka, holding the Mother Tantras, with deep roots, and many servants and attendants. Then those people entered the summer retreat and established internal rules, saying: "Whoever among us sees the water pot empty, with nothing in it, should fill it himself. Or be assigned to manage the utensils. If I do not fill it and am not assigned to manage the utensils, then we will make him bear the responsibility from that basis." They said that. Then those who were in the summer retreat there, when settling the true words, mixed with harsh words, and lived looking for each other's faults. At that time, a householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to his house for a meal. The Blessed One, attended by many monks, went to the house of that householder. After the Blessed One left, the monk from Vaishali went to the toilet, washed himself, and saw that there was only a little water left in the water pot. He thought: "All the monks have gone to the meal, so now no one will go to the toilet. Therefore, this water pot does not need to be filled by myself, nor does it need to be assigned to manage the utensils." Thinking this, he left the little water and left. After he left for a long time, the monk from Kausambi prepared to go to the toilet. He saw that there was only a little water in the water pot. He also saw that the monk from Vaishali had washed himself and left. He thought: "This monk will do two things, either he will fill the water pot himself, or he will be assigned to manage the utensils." Thinking this, he stayed there waiting. Then the disciples who lived with him said: "Khenpo, all the monks have gone to the meal, what are you doing here?" He said: "I want to wash myself, because the monk from Vaishali has washed himself and left, so he will come, either he will fill the water pot himself, or he will be assigned to manage the utensils." They said: "No."

The Khenpo and his entourage said, "Do not stay here." Then, he showed the water pond to the monks and said, "Look, is this little water enough for washing?" They said, "Khenpo, if you just say there is no water here, we will support your foundation, strength, and friends." They said this. The monk from Vaishali also felt regret and said to the disciples who lived with him, "Alas, after I washed here, only a little water was left in the pond, and I left. The rule of the Sangha is that either one should fill the water oneself, or participate in the management of the utensils. But I neither filled the water myself, nor did I participate in the management of the utensils. After I came here, some monks may not be able to wash." Then they said, "Khenpo, if you just say there is water in it, we will support your foundation, strength, and friends." They said this. Then they ate food in that house and left. Some of them thought, "The monk from Vaishali has violated the rules of the Sangha. Because he has made a mistake, we should make him confess." So they laid out cushions, struck the ghanta, and all the monks gathered and sat down. That monk argued with the monk from Vaishali, and he said, "There is water in it." He said, "Is that little water enough for washing?" Because he argued unreasonably, they performed the expulsion karma. Then the monks from Vaishali destroyed the karma, separated, and held the Posadha separately. After that, they fought, exposed each other's faults, quarreled, and argued over this matter. They fought, exposed each other's faults, quarreled, and argued as they sat. Then, the Blessed One summoned the expelled monk, the monk who followed the expelled one, and the monk who followed the one who followed the expelled one.
