If everything decays and does not come to fruition, then what imperishable dharma in the world does not decay? I wonder if there is anything to see. Then, a former god of the old elders, a friend, brother, and companion of that ignorant householder, went to the door of the house of the ignorant householder, illuminated the entire house with great light, and said this to the ignorant householder: Householder, do you not know what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world? The householder said: God, if I do not know what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world, do you, god, know what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world? The god said: Householder, I also do not know what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world. The householder said: God, then who knows what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world? The god said: Householder, there is one who knows, the renunciate Gautama, son of the Shakya clan, who shaved his hair and beard from the Shakya lineage, donned colored robes, and went forth from home to homelessness with true faith, attained unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, and became a Buddha. That Bhagavan knows what is the decaying dharma and what is not the decaying dharma in the world. The householder said: God, where does that Bhagavan reside now? The god said: Householder, in the eastern direction, there is a place called Shravasti, and within it, in the Jeta Grove of Prince Jeta, in the Anathapindika's Garden, that Bhagavan now resides. Householder, if you wish, go to where the Bhagavan is, go there and ask the Bhagavan about this matter, and do as the Bhagavan prophesies to you. Having said this, that god immediately disappeared. Then, as soon as he heard this, the ignorant householder desired to see the Bhagavan. Then,

Once upon a time, in the land of Yushurparaka, many merchants, carrying their goods, went to Shravasti. When they arrived there, they developed faith in the teachings of the Blessed One, took refuge, and received the precepts. Later, they returned to Yushurparaka with their goods and prices. They praised the Buddha and the Dharma in front of the householder Ignorant, saying, 'The Blessed One is all-knowing and all-seeing. Go to see him, and he will heal the diseases of your body and mind.' Then, having heard these words, he became even more eager to go and see the Blessed One. Later, the householder Ignorant, carrying much provisions, rode a fine horse and traveled for half a day from the land of Yushurparaka to Shravasti. He rode as far as he could ride, then dismounted and went to where the Blessed One was, prostrated his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat to one side. Having sat to one side, the householder Ignorant said to the Blessed One, 'Venerable one, this body of mine, full of pus and blood, has become base and shameful, and should be abandoned and despised.' The Blessed One said, 'Householder, this body is like a disease, like a cataract, like pain.' The Blessed One, starting from this very aggregate, taught him the Dharma that was in accordance with it. Therefore, while the householder Ignorant was sitting on that very seat, he shattered the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and realized the fruit of stream-entry. Having seen the truth, he thought, 'If only my body were not like this, I would also go forth into the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, and for the sake of completely crossing over the rivers and completely escaping from the bonds, I should strive, practice, and exert myself.' As soon as he generated the mind of going forth, the body of that householder became as flawless as the palm of his hand.

became. Then, he became even more delighted with the Bhagavan. Then, after he was delighted, he rose from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, and towards where the Bhagavan was, he bowed with joined palms, and said this to the Bhagavan: "Venerable one, if I am able to go forth and receive full ordination in the Dharma-Vinaya well-spoken by you, and obtain the state of a Bhikshu, then I would also like to practice the pure conduct in the presence of the Bhagavan." Then, the Bhagavan ordained him with the words, "Bhikshu, come here." And after he had fully ordained him, he also gave him instructions. And he, through diligence, practice, and effort, abandoned all defilements, and directly realized the state of an Arhat. He, as an Arhat, having become free from the desire of the three realms, possessing a mind that is equal to gold and clods, similar to the sky and the palm of the hand, having become cool like being soaked in sandalwood, having destroyed the shell of the egg with wisdom, having obtained wisdom and supernormal powers, and each Having attained perfect knowledge, not looking at the gains, attachments, and honors of existence, he became an object of worship, remembrance, and respectful praise by the gods with power and attendants. Then, the venerable Foolish One, in the morning, put on his lower garment and robes, and went to Shravasti for alms with his bowl. As a result, he was struck and killed by hailstones. At the time of his death, his senses were clear, his complexion was completely pure, and his skin turned white. Then, many Bhikshus, in the morning, put on their lower garments and robes, and went to Shravasti for alms with their bowls. Many Bhikshus who went to Shravasti for alms heard this: "The householder named Foolish One of Shurparaka in Shravasti was struck and killed by hailstones, and at the time of his death, his senses were clear, his complexion was completely pure, and his skin turned white." Having heard this, many Bhikshus, having taken alms in Shravasti, having eaten their meal, having stopped cleaning up after the meal, having put down their bowls and robes, went to where the Bhagavan was, and having arrived, at the feet of the Bhagavan
