If it is possible to receive full ordination and obtain the status of a bhikshu, we should also practice brahmacharya in the presence of the Bhagavan. Then, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector tonsured them and gave them full ordination. He also prophesied to them. They practiced brahmacharya there for a lifetime, but none of them gained a collection of merits. At the time of death, they made the aspiration: Thus, we have practiced brahmacharya for a lifetime in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, but none of us have gained a collection of merits. May we please the Buddha Bhagavan who was prophesied as the Brahmin boy by the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, and may we not displease him. Having renounced in that very teaching, abandoning all defilements, may we realize the state of Arhat. So they said. Bhikshus, what do you think? Those five hundred sages at that time were none other than these five hundred sages. They practiced brahmacharya there for a lifetime, and at the time of death, they made the aspiration: May we please the Buddha Bhagavan who was prophesied as the Brahmin boy by the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector, and may we not displease him. Having renounced in that very teaching, abandoning all defilements, may we realize the state of Arhat. Therefore, bhikshus, I have attained the state of being extremely equal to, having the same power as, having the same deeds as, and having the same means as the perfectly enlightened Buddha Light Protector. These people have pleased me and have not displeased me. Having renounced in my own teaching, abandoning all defilements, they have realized the state of Arhat. // The parable of "The Blind Man" is as follows: The Buddha Bhagavan was residing in the Great God's Mango Grove in the country of Mithila. At that time, in the country of Mithila, there was a householder named Tsokchen (Abundant Wealth), who was rich, had much wealth, and had great enjoyment, possessing wealth equal to that of Vaishravana's son.

There was a wealthy man who competed with others, and because he needed a companion, he took a wife. He played with her, feeling happy and content. Later, his wife became pregnant. After nine or ten months, she gave birth to an ugly, blind child. Then, that householder saw the child. As soon as he saw him, the parents felt great suffering. They said, "We two have sought a child a hundred times, but if we give birth to such a child, we two do not need such an ugly, blind child. Tomorrow morning or evening, throw him out and give him to the dogs." So, the parents threw him out, abandoned him on the main road, and gave him to the dogs. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, is the guide of the one and only path, possessing the two knowledges and wisdom, skilled in the three unmixed mindfulnesses, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, liberated from the five realms of existence, skilled in the six sense bases, whose field of activity is the seven branches of enlightenment, a meditator on the eight liberations, abiding successively in the nine successive abidings, possessing the ten powers, proclaiming the great roar of the true lion. According to the Dharma, three times during the day and three times during the night, six times day and night, with the Buddha's eye he looks upon the world, who is declining? Who is prospering? Who is poor? Who is miserable? Who is afflicted? Who is poor, miserable, and afflicted? Who is inclined towards the lower realms? Who is falling into the lower realms? Who has fallen into the lower realms? Who shall I rescue from the lower realms and place in the heavens, liberation, and fruition? Who is sinking in the mire of misconduct, from whom shall I draw out a hand? Who lacks the seven noble riches, whom shall I invest with the power of the seven noble riches? Who has not generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to generate them? Who has already generated roots of virtue, whom shall I cause to fully ripen them? Who has fully ripened roots of virtue, whom shall I pierce with the sword of wisdom? Which world, adorned by the appearance of a Buddha, should I make fruitful? Thus, he engages in wisdom's gaze.

O, the abode of aquatic beings, the time of tides may recede. For the sons to be tamed, the Buddha's time never recedes. Then, the Blessed One thought: Now is the time to prophesy this child, and relying on this child, many beings to be tamed must be guided. Thinking this, the Blessed One blessed the child so that he would not be eaten by dogs in any way. Then, the Blessed One arose early the next morning, put on the lower garment and Dharma robes, took the alms bowl, attended by the assembly of monks, and led by the Sangha of monks, went to the country of Mithila, and the Blessed One sat down not far from that child. Then, many people living in the country of Mithila saw the Buddha, the Blessed One. Having seen him, they were amazed, and urged by the roots of previous virtues, they went to where the Blessed One was. Then, the Blessed One thought: How can I make this child remember his previous lives, and also speak, and also talk with me? I shall enter into such a samadhi. Thinking this, the Blessed One blessed him in this way, and the child remembered his previous lives, began to speak, and talked with the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said to the child: Child, are you unhappy? Blessed One, I am unhappy. Child, are you unhappy? Sugata, I am unhappy. The Blessed One said: Do you experience the unpleasant ripening of the fruits of evil deeds of body, speech, and mind? He replied: Blessed One, I experience the unpleasant ripening of the fruits of evil deeds of body, speech, and mind. The Blessed One said: Who is your unwholesome friend? He replied: It is my own mind. Then, as soon as they heard this, many people were amazed, thinking: How is it that this being can remember his previous lives, and also speak, and also talk with the Blessed One? The Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are truly
