་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུས་བསམས་པ། ཡི་དགས་འདི་རྣམས་ལས་ཟད་དེ་རིང་པོ་མི་ཐོགས་པར་འཆི་བར་འགྱུར་གྱིས། བདག་གིས་འདི་རྣམས་གདུལ་བར་བྱའོ་སྙམ་སྟེ། ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ཡི་དགས་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཐད་དུ་སོང་ནས་སྨྲས་པ། བཞིན་བཟངས་དག་འདི་ལྟར་འདུ་བྱེད་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་མི་རྟག་གོ །ཆོས་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་བདག་མེད་པའོ། །མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ནི་ཞི་བའོ། །ང་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་གྱིས་ཤིག་དང་། ཡི་དགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་གནས་དང་བྲལ་བར་འགྱུར་ཡང་སྲིད་དོ་ཞེས་བྱས་ནས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སོང་ངོ་། །ཡི་དགས་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་ཚེ་ཟད་ནས་དེ་དག་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་བཞིན་དུ་ཤི་ནས་ལྷའི་ཡུལ་དུ་སྐྱེས་སོ། །ལྷའི་བུའམ་ལྷའི་བུ་མོ་སྐྱེས་མ་ཐག་པ་ནི་ཆོས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་སེམས་རྣམ་པ་གསུམ་སྐྱེ་བར་འགྱུར་ཏེ། བདག་གང་ནས་ཤི་འཕོས་གང་དུ་སྐྱེས་ལས་གང་གིས་སྐྱེས་སྙམ་མོ། །དེ་ནས་ཡི་དགས་ལས་ཤི་འཕོས་པ་དང་ལྷར་སྐྱེས་པ་དང་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་སེམས་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་མཐོང་ངོ་། །དེ་ནས་སྔོན་ཡི་དགས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་ལྷའི་བུ་དེ་དག་འདི་སྙམ་དུ་སེམས་ཏེ། བདག་ཅག་ཞག་ལོན་ནས་གཟོད་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་བལྟ་བའི་ཕྱིར་འགྲོ་བ་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གི་ཆ་མ་ཡིན་གྱིས། བདག་ཅག་ཞག་མ་ལོན་པར་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་བལྟ་བའི་ཕྱིར་འགྲོའོ་སྙམ་མོ། །དེ་ནས་སྔོན་ཡི་དགས་སུ་གྱུར་པའི་ལྷའི་བུ། རྣ་ཆ་གདུབ་ཀོར་དག་ཅིང་འགུལ་བ་ཐོགས་པ། ལུས་དོ་ཤལ་དང་སེ་མོ་དོས་བརྒྱན་པ། ནོར་བུ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་སྤྲས་པའི་ཅོད་པན་ཅན་ལུས་གུར་གུམ་དང་ཏ་མ་ལའི་ལོ་མ་དང་ཀ་ལ་སོགས་པས་བྱུགས་པ་དེ་དག་གིས་དེ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མཚན་མོ་ལྷའི་མེ་ཏོག་ཨུད་པ་ལ་དང་། པད་མ་དང་། ཀུ་མུ་དཱ་དང་། པད་མ་དཀར་པོ་དང་། མན་དཱ་ར་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཐུ་བ་བཀང་སྟེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཐད་དུ་ལྷགས་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལ་ལྷའི་མེ་ཏོག་གིས་གཏོར་ཏོ། །དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་དེ་དག་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་ཏེ། དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་བདེན་པ་རྣམས་མཐོང་ངོ་། །དེ་དག་གིས་བདེན་པ་མཐོང་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཐད་ནས་སོང་སྟེ། རང་གི་གནས་སུ་དོང་བ་ན་དེ་དག་གིས་ཁྱེའུ་ཝ་ཡིད་ལ་དྲན་ནས་དེ་དག་གིས་བསམས་པ། བདག་ཅག་ནི་འཕགས་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ། ཡི་དགས་ཀྱི་སྐྱེ་གནས་དང་བྲལ་ནས། ལྷར་སྐྱེས་ཀྱིས་བདག་ཅག་དོང་སྟེ་ཝའི་དོན་བྱའོ། །འོན་ཀྱང་དེ་ཡང་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱི་ཐད་དུ་སོང་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ལས་བརྟེན་ཏེ། སྡུ

舍利子心想：这些饿鬼寿命将尽，不久便会死去，我应当调伏他们。于是，具寿舍利子走到五百饿鬼面前，说道：善妙者们，须知一切行皆无常，一切法皆无我，涅槃是寂静。让我心生欢喜吧，或许还能脱离饿鬼的处境。说完，具寿舍利子便离开了。那些饿鬼也寿命将尽，他们在对具寿舍利子心生欢喜的同时死去，转生到了天界。天子或天女刚一出生，自然而然地会生起三种念头： 我从何处死去，转生到何处，因何业而生？然后，他们看到了从饿鬼道死去、转生为天人，并曾对具寿舍利子心生欢喜的景象。接着，那些先前是饿鬼的天子们心想：我们等过些日子再去拜见世尊，这不适合我们。我们不等过日子就去拜见世尊吧。然后，那些先前是饿鬼的天子，带着摇曳发光的耳环和手镯，身体佩戴着项链和腰带，头戴着以各种珍宝装饰的头饰，身上涂抹着藏红花、塔玛拉树叶和卡拉等香料，在那天晚上，他们用天界的乌巴拉花、莲花、姑母达花、白莲花和曼陀罗花装满了容器，来到世尊面前，向世尊撒了天花。之后，世尊为他们开示佛法，他们都见到了真谛。他们见到真谛后，从世尊那里离开，回到自己的住所时，想起了小瓦，他们心想：我们依靠圣者舍利子，脱离了饿鬼的处境，转生为天人，我们应该去为瓦做些事情。然而，他也应该去世尊那里，依靠世尊，才能…

Shariputra thought: 'These hungry ghosts will soon die as their lifespan is exhausted. I should tame them.' Then, the venerable Shariputra went to the five hundred hungry ghosts and said: 'O good-looking ones, know that all conditioned things are impermanent, all dharmas are without self, and nirvana is peace. Make me happy, and it may be possible to be freed from the state of hungry ghosts.' Having said this, the venerable Shariputra left. Those hungry ghosts also reached the end of their lives, and as they were delighted with the venerable Shariputra, they died and were reborn in the heavenly realm. As soon as a son or daughter of the gods is born, three thoughts naturally arise: 'From where did I die, where was I born, and by what karma was I born?' Then, they saw the scene of dying from the hungry ghost realm, being born as gods, and being delighted with the venerable Shariputra. Then, those sons of the gods who were formerly hungry ghosts thought: 'It is not appropriate for us to go to see the Blessed One after a few days. Let us go to see the Blessed One without waiting for a few days.' Then, those sons of the gods who were formerly hungry ghosts, with earrings and bracelets that were pure and moving, bodies adorned with necklaces and belts, wearing crowns adorned with various precious jewels, bodies smeared with saffron, tamala leaves, and kara and other spices, on that very night, they filled containers with heavenly utpala flowers, lotuses, kumuda flowers, white lotuses, and mandarava flowers, and came to the Blessed One and scattered heavenly flowers on the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One taught them the Dharma, and they all saw the truth. After seeing the truth, they left from the presence of the Blessed One and, as they returned to their own abodes, they remembered the boy Va and thought: 'We relied on the noble Shariputra and were freed from the state of hungry ghosts and were born as gods. Thinking that he might be liberated from that suffering, the prince disappeared from the Victory Grove and, in the direction where the Blessed One was, he sat in the sky above, in a celestial palace, illuminating the area where the Blessed One was with great light. Then, Va saw those five hundred gods. Having seen them, he asked, "Who are you? What are you doing?" They replied, "We are your former friends." The boy said, "Before, I saw you not like this, and now I see you not like this." They said, "We died from here and were reborn in the realm of the gods." Va said, "Did you only take vows and then get reborn in the realm of the gods?" They said, "It is not because of taking vows that we were reborn, but because I was previously born as a hungry ghost due to unwholesome actions. We relied on the venerable Shariputra and were separated from the birthplace of hungry ghosts and obtained the birthplace of gods. You should also go for refuge to the Buddha, the Blessed One, and you may also be liberated from this suffering." Having said this, those gods disappeared immediately. The venerable Purna also saw those five hundred gods going to Va and said to others, "Like this, the gods also show their bodies and come, this great being has accomplished asceticism." Then, as soon as they heard this, many beings vowed to eat dirt. The boy Va heard the words of the gods and thought, "I should go and attend to the Buddha, the Blessed One." However, I am covered in dirt like this, I dare not go to see the Blessed One. So, he went to the bank of the Ganges River, rubbed all the dirt off his body, bathed, and then went to where the Blessed One was. Then, the boy Va saw the body of the Buddha, the Blessed One, perfectly adorned and radiant with the thirty-two marks of a great being, like a body of fire, like a flame fed with ghee, like a butter lamp placed in a golden vessel.

For example, like a stupa adorned with various precious jewels, (he) was intelligent and immaculate, possessing purity, and saw the Buddha Bhagavan. Having seen him, he also experienced great joy. For a sentient being born from the cause of accumulating virtuous roots, the joy of seeing the Buddha for the first time is so great that even after twelve years of practicing calm abiding, such joy would not arise. Having seen him in that way, he went to where the Bhagavan was, and having arrived, he bowed to the feet of the Bhagavan with his head, and sat before him to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Bhagavan understood his thoughts, habits, faculties, nature, and wisdom, and then taught the Dharma that was in accordance with him. Then, the boy Vasu, while sitting on that seat, destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and directly realized the fruit of stream-entry.
