What is the cause and condition for the Bhagavan's smile? The Bhagavan said: Ananda, it is indeed so. It is indeed so. Ananda, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, do not smile without a cause or condition. Ananda, did you see that Brahmin who, having generated joy towards the Tathagata, looked at him? Venerable one, I saw him. Ananda, this Brahmin, by this root of virtue, will not fall into evil destinies for thirteen kalpas. For thirteen kalpas, he will take rebirth among gods and humans, and after wandering in samsara, in his last existence and last place, he will obtain a human birth, and then he will go forth. Without a teacher and without instructions, he will realize the thirty-seven dharmas that are in accordance with the path to enlightenment, and he will directly realize the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha, and he will become a Pratyekabuddha named Gawa (Joyful). That is the dharma to be given as his alms. The Third Chariot: The basis of the story is that the Bhagavan was dwelling in Shravasti. The Bhagavan, in the early morning, having put on his lower garment and robes, and carrying his bowl, went to Shravasti for alms. A Brahmin, riding in a wooden chariot, was touring the countryside and inspecting his fields. Seeing the Bhagavan, he thought, "How inauspicious!" and fled in the opposite direction. The Bhagavan, out of compassion for him, remained standing in that very spot. After a while, at each of the four gates of the city, he saw the Bhagavan standing before him. He thought, "This ascetic Gautama is very powerful and has great magical abilities." Then he developed joy towards the Bhagavan. Having developed joy, he scattered a handful of flowers over the Bhagavan. At that moment, the Bhagavan smiled. This is the nature of the Buddhas, the Bhagavatans, when they smile. At that time, blue, yellow, red, and white rays of light emanated from his face. Some went downwards, and some went upwards. Those that went downwards brought a touch of coolness, a touch of coolness, a touch of coolness, and a touch of bliss to those sentient beings suffering in the hells of Revival, Black Line, Aggregation, Lamentation, Great Lamentation, Heat, Great Heat, and Uninterrupted Suffering. Those suffering from the heat experienced a touch of coolness and a touch of coolness. Those that went upwards brought a touch of bliss to those suffering among the gods of desire, the gods of form, and the gods of formlessness. Then the Bhagavan addressed the monks: Monks, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, do not smile without a cause or condition. Monks, there is a cause and a condition for smiling at that time. Monks, did you see that Brahmin who, having generated joy towards the Tathagata, scattered flowers? We saw him, Bhagavan. Monks, this Brahmin, by this root of virtue, will not fall into evil destinies for eighty kalpas. For eighty kalpas, he will take rebirth among gods and humans, and after wandering in samsara, in his last existence and last place, he will obtain a human birth, and then he will go forth. Without a teacher and without instructions, he will realize the thirty-seven dharmas that are in accordance with the path to enlightenment, and he will directly realize the enlightenment of a Pratyekabuddha, and he will become a Pratyekabuddha named Metok (Flower). That is the dharma to be given as his alms.

Great heat, heat, extreme heat, uninterrupted, blistered, blistered and ruptured, teeth gnashing, sounds of "hissing," sounds of "achu," splitting like an utpala flower, splitting like a lotus flower, and splitting like a great lotus. In all those hot hells for sentient beings, it becomes cool and descends. In all those cold hells for sentient beings, it becomes warm and descends. Thus, the various harms to those sentient beings are pacified. Then, they think, "Alas, have we died and transmigrated from here, or have we been reborn elsewhere?" Then, in order to generate faith in them, the Bhagavan manifests emanations. Having seen the emanations, they think, "Alas, we have neither died and transmigrated from here, nor have we been reborn elsewhere, but through the power of this unprecedented appearance of sentient beings, our various harms have been pacified." Then, they become delighted in their minds towards the emanations, and thus, the karma that causes them to experience hellish suffering is exhausted, and among gods and humans, wherever they are fit to be vessels of truth, they will take rebirth there. Those who go upwards reach the realms of the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the Strife-free, the Joyful, the Enjoying Emanations, the Controlling Others' Emanations, the Brahma Host, the Retinue of Brahma, the Great Brahma, the Minor Light, the Immeasurable Light, the Clear Light, the Minor Virtue, the Immeasurable Virtue, the Abundant Virtue, the Cloudless, the Merit-born, the Great Fruit, the Non-great, the Non-afflicted, the Serene Appearance, the Highly Visible, and up to the gods of Akanishta, proclaiming the sounds of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. They also utter two verses: "Undertake renunciation, engage in the Buddha's teachings, like an elephant разрушить a house of reeds, destroy the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever in this Dharma"
