If we had become monks when we were young, these people would not use the term "old monks" to refer to us. Now that we have become monks in our old age, that is why we are being called "old monks." The monk responded to this with a glance and said nothing. After that, the two of them practiced celibacy for as long as they lived, and at the time of their death, they made a prayer: "Like this, we two have practiced celibacy for as long as we lived in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, but we have not obtained any accumulation of merit. May we two be able to please that Brahmin boy who was prophesied by the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, and may we not displease him. May we only become monks in his teachings, abandon all defilements, and manifest the state of Arhat. Even if he has established precepts not to ordain very young children, may it be allowed at that time because of us two." Monks, what do you think? Those two who became old monks having become monks in the teachings of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa at that time are these two novice monks who have become monks now. Because those two practiced celibacy there for as long as they lived and made prayers at the time of their death, monks, I am completely the same as the perfectly enlightened Buddha Kashyapa, the same in power, the same in deeds, and the same in skillful means. These two have pleased me and have not displeased me. When these two are seven years old, they will become monks in my teachings, abandon all defilements, and manifest the state of Arhat, and relying only on these two, I will allow the ordination of seven-year-old children who are able to scare away crows. The sixth verse of the Hundred Karmas is complete. The seventh verse. Top. Summary: Prostitute, paralysis, upper body, blind person, naked, Kashyapa, chief, elephant.

Barley and Sarana, possessing the asceticism of wild animals, both human and non-human like the moon, a person named 'Ewo' resided in Glengzhi Nyan (Jeta Grove). At that time, a householder residing in Glengzhi Nyan (Jeta Grove), due to karmic connections, took a wife and lived joyfully and happily with her, playing and enjoying themselves together. Later, his wife became pregnant, and after nine or ten months, she gave birth to a child whose upper body was well-formed, beautiful, and pleasing to the eye, but whose lower body was incomplete. At the time of his birth, all affairs in the household became successful and prosperous. Merchants who went by land, merchants who went by water, and even the affairs of large ocean-going ships were successful and returned. Herds of cattle and buffalo also increased. All kinds of work became successful and prosperous. The householder thought, 'This must be due to the power of this child, that all our affairs have become successful. This child, 'Ewo,' who was born to me, is truly a blessed one!' Then, he held a grand birth celebration for the child and named him, saying, 'Since this child is 'Ewo,' his name shall only be 'Ewo'.' After that, the child named 'Ewo' was raised and nurtured with milk, yogurt, butter, clarified butter, and the essence of butter. Then, the more he grew, the more wealthy and prosperous the householder's family became. Later, this became widely known, because through his power, whatever work was undertaken became successful, so everyone said that this child was truly a blessed one! Upon hearing these words, many people residing in Glengzhi Nyan (Jeta Grove) often went to see him, and whatever they undertook, they invoked his name, and through his power, things became successful. Later, this became even more widely known throughout Glengzhi Nyan (Jeta Grove). Later, when he grew up, his father made a palanquin out of precious jewels for him, and he traveled around riding in it. After that, he was made to study writing in his own home, learning letters, mental arithmetic, joking and laughing, manual calculation, extracting, hiding, distributing, examining clothes, and examining jewels.

He learned to distinguish jewels, to distinguish incense, to distinguish medicine, to distinguish elephants, to distinguish horses, and to distinguish weapons. He became skilled in writing, skilled in reading, intelligent, efficient in his work, calm in mind, and proficient in the eight kinds of discernment. Then one day, he rode in a palanquin, attended by many common people, and went to the garden. When he looked, he saw many common people, group after group, party after party, going to the Victory Banner Prince's garden. He was surprised and asked, "Where are these common people going?" They replied, "They are going to see the Bhagavan." The cripple asked, "What is this Bhagavan like?" They replied, "Near the snowy mountains, not far from the hermitage of the ascetic Yellow Eyes, a son of the Shakya clan was born. The Brahmins who interpret signs prophesied that if he remains at home, he will become a Chakravartin king. But if he shaves his hair and beard, puts on colored robes, and goes forth from home to homelessness with true faith, he will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, and will have great fame." As soon as he heard these words, he desired to see the Bhagavan, and so, attended by those common people, he went to the Victory Banner Prince's garden. At that time, the Bhagavan was sitting in the midst of hundreds of thousands of attendants, teaching the Dharma. Then, from afar, that cripple saw the Buddha Bhagavan's body adorned and decorated with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, like a burning flame, like a flame fueled by ghee, like a butter lamp placed in a golden vessel, like a stupa adorned with various jewels. He saw the Buddha Bhagavan, who was bright in wisdom, without impurity, and completely pure. Having seen him, he felt great joy. Just like the joy that sentient beings who have accumulated roots of virtue experience when they first see the Buddha, that joy lasted for twelve years.
