Then they pointed at her, reviled and mocked her. Then, when the monks heard of this, they reported it to the Blessed One, saying: Venerable One, the bhikkhuni Tsonmo Gawamo has become degraded and ruined for the sake of magical powers. She has borrowed food for three months, and has also distributed many bowls and robes, but she has not obtained magical powers. The Blessed One said: Bhikkhus, the bhikkhuni Tsonmo Gawamo is not only being deceived by the six groups now, but just as in the past she was also deceived by these same ones. Listen to that matter which was not accomplished. Bhikkhus, in the past, in the city of Varanasi, King Brahma gave alms and ruled. In the king's palace, a new mansion was being built, and many carpenters were working there. They marked the crooked trees with ink lines and straightened them. The king had a hunchbacked female steward who saw the carpenters marking the crooked trees with ink lines and straightening them. Having seen this, she thought to herself, 'These carpenters are skilled, they can straighten even hard and rough trees. What need is there to mention my back, which is soft and smooth? What if they cannot straighten it?' Thinking this, she went to them and said: 'Can you straighten my hunchback?' They said: 'We can, but you must first give us a reward, lend us food for three months, and give us many clothes and jewels, and then we will straighten your back.' She said: 'Do as you please.' So she honored them with many clean and delicious foods for three months. On the last day, she gave them clothes and jewels, saying: 'I have given you the reward, now straighten my hunchback.' They said: 'Yes, we mark the crooked trees with ink lines and then hew them with axes to straighten them. If that causes you harm

If the tree could endure it, we would use your back as a reference, chop it with an axe, and straighten it upright. It said: By that method, I would die, and there would be no chance for me to live. The carpenters said: Our knowledge is limited to that, and how to do anything beyond that, only you know. Then it felt ashamed, despaired, and sat silently, not daring to say a word to anyone. Monks, what do you think? The one who became an old woman at that time was none other than this Pleasure-Loving Courtesan. Those who became carpenters at that time were these six groups of monks. Even then, this courtesan seduced them, and the matter was not accomplished. Even now, this courtesan has seduced them, so this miracle has not been accomplished either. The story called "The Beginning" is as follows: The story takes place in Rajagriha (王舍城), where, when the venerable Pindola Bharadvaja, having abandoned all defilements, directly realized the state of an Arhat, he thought: "The Blessed One has removed my many sufferings and discomforts, accomplished many pleasures and comforts, removed many sins and unwholesome dharmas, and accomplished many virtuous dharmas. How should I repay the kindness of the Blessed One?" Then he thought, "Any Buddha who appears in the world does so only for the benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, I must also benefit sentient beings." So he thought, "Is there anyone I can tame?" He saw that most of the people living in the country of Kausambi (कौशाम्बी, Kauśāmbī, 憍赏弥, an ancient city in India, now in Uttar Pradesh) could be tamed by him. So, after staying in Rajagriha as long as he pleased, he put on his lower garment and robes, took his bowl, and went wandering to the country of Kausambi (कौशाम्बी, Kauśāmbī, 憍赏弥, an ancient city in India, now in Uttar Pradesh). Gradually wandering, he arrived in Kausambi (कौशाम्बी, Kauśāmbī, 憍赏弥, an ancient city in India, now in Uttar Pradesh) and stayed in the Kundavana (कुण्डवन, Kuṇḍavana, 憍赏弥城中的一个园林) garden of the householder 勝軍 (Gharapati,迦罗越,家主) in Kausambi (कौशाम्बी, Kauśāmbī, 憍赏弥, an ancient city in India, now in Uttar Pradesh). It is said that the venerable one was endowed with great merit and had become a monk from the son of a courtier. Then, many people living in Kausambi (कौशाम्बी, Kauśāmbī, 憍赏弥, an ancient city in India, now in Uttar Pradesh) heard that the venerable Pindola Bharadvaja
