Killed by grass. Only good words should be spoken, Do not speak of the sinful. Better than speaking of tormenting sinners, It is permissible to speak good words. Children who speak of the sinful, Will be bound when they speak, If they speak, others will abandon them, Those noble ones do not speak. A monk's speech is restrained, Speaking slowly and without arrogance. Whoever reveals meaning that is in accordance with Dharma, That is pleasant speech. The noble ones say that speaking well is supreme. Pleasant speech is not unpleasant, this is the second. True speech is not false, this is the third. Speaking of Dharma is not ordinary, this is the fourth. Those words should be spoken, Which do not torment oneself, And do not harm others, Those words should be spoken well. By which one becomes manifestly happy, And by which one does not generate sin, By speaking which others become happy, Only pleasant words should be spoken. True words are nectar, True words are unsurpassed. Abiding greatly in meaning and Dharma, The noble ones say, it is truth. For the sake of abandoning all suffering, Whatever words the Buddha spoke, Truth that goes to Nirvana, Those words are unsurpassed. The eighth chapter on words. Having completely transcended one Dharma, Having destroyed the other world, A sentient being who speaks lies, There is no sin that cannot be committed. Swallowing an iron ball like a burning flame, Is still very easy, But one who is immoral and not well disciplined, Should not eat alms from the land. You are afraid of suffering, And you do not like suffering, Whether openly or secretly, Do not do sinful deeds. If you have done sinful deeds, Or even if you will do them, you, Even if you stand up and run away, You will not escape from suffering. There is no place where one can abide and not be overtaken by karma, That place does not exist, It is not in the sky, nor in the ocean, Nor is it by entering into the midst of mountains. Having observed others, And seeing the deeds of the sinful, Those I will not do, For sinful deeds are followed. Whatever deeds are extremely unpleasant, Deceiving, measuring, mediating, And harming others, And causing others to do them, Those deeds are the of men.

Following the earth, it will make you fall into the abyss. Whatever good or bad deeds a person does, whatever actions are taken, those actions will not be wasted; they will bear fruit accordingly. As long as that collection of actions exists, it will continue to whip you. Others will also whip you, and that whipper will be examined. The child, without thinking, does things saying, "I do not follow myself," and evil deeds will make beings aware in the next life. If a child unknowingly commits evil deeds, at some point, he himself will personally bear the painful consequences. He will be burned by his own karma, just as if burned by fire. Foolish and ignorant children, treating themselves like enemies, engage in sinful actions that lead to great evil consequences. Actions that cause suffering, with faces covered in tears, weeping, and personally bearing the consequences, are best not done. Actions that do not cause suffering, with joy and inner peace, personally bearing the consequences, are best done. For the sake of one's own happiness, like a wild beast committing evil deeds, the consequences of those evil deeds will be experienced with weeping. Indeed, evil deeds do not immediately appear like milk; they are like fire covered by ashes, slowly burning the child. Evil deeds certainly do not immediately cut you like a sword, but the destination of evil deeds will be revealed in the next life. There, they personally bear the painful consequences; the destination of evil deeds will be known in the next life. Rust arises from iron, and the rust that arises consumes the iron itself. Similarly, actions done without thinking will lead to bad destinies due to one's own karma. The ninth chapter on actions. Faith, shame, discipline, and generosity, these qualities are praised by the noble ones. Through these, one can go to the world of the gods, and it is said that by this path one can go to the heavenly realms. The stingy do not go to the world of the gods, and these fools do not praise generosity. The virtuous rejoice in generosity, and they therefore enjoy happiness in the next life. This is the wealth of humans.

Supreme is faith. Here, practicing virtue in the Dharma, one obtains happiness. Truth alone is the best of all tastes. Living by wisdom is said to be the most excellent way of life. For those who go to Nirvana, the Arhats who cultivate faith in the Dharma, if the wise listen with respect, they will obtain that wisdom. The prudent cross the ocean, and by faith, they cross the rivers. By diligence, one abandons suffering, and by wisdom, one becomes truly liberated. A monk who has faithful companions, and is filled with wisdom, and rejoices in Nirvana, will cut all bonds. Whoever cultivates faith and discipline, and wisdom itself, the wise one who abandons faults, is called one with good conduct. Faith and discipline are perfectly complete, generous and completely abandoning stinginess, wherever he goes, there he will be honored. In whatever world the wise live, relying on faith and wisdom, these are their supreme treasures, their other treasures will be exhausted. Those who wish to see the noble ones, and delight in hearing the sacred Dharma, and completely abandon the stain of miserliness, are called faithful. One should accumulate the provisions of faith, merit cannot be stolen by thieves. Prevent thieves from plundering, the Sangha rejoices upon receiving it. The wise will rejoice at the arrival of the monks, and people should give according to their faith. Regarding the food and drink of others, whoever feels displeasure in their heart, they will not attain Samadhi day and night. Whoever cuts off like the head of a palm tree, completely cutting off like that, they will attain true Samadhi day and night. Just like a dry well, one should not associate with those without faith. Even if one digs there, muddy, foul-smelling water will emerge. Just as a lake with abundant, clear water, that has become cool and without impurities, into which rivers flow, the wise should associate with those who have faith. Whether attached or not, because he cannot ascertain the form of the Buddha, one should abandon those without faith. One should associate closely with those who have faith. The tenth chapter on faith is complete. Summary: Impermanence, desire and craving, and mindfulness, likewise joy
