Field. The Bhikshu, the hearer of the Buddha, who gradually increases solitude. Do not strive for everything, And do not be deceived by others, Do not rely on others for livelihood, Do not use the Dharma like a merchant. One's own gains should be accepted, And do not generate desire for others'. A Bhikshu who desires others' things, Therefore, will not attain Samadhi. If you want to live happily, If you want to see such a practitioner, If the Sangha gives Dharma robes and, Food and drink, then accept it. If you want to live happily, If you want to see such a practitioner, Like a snake peeking from a mouse hole, Rely on quiet places. If you want to live happily, If you want to see such a practitioner, Be content with just a little, And only practice the Dharma. If you cannot understand much, And keep the precepts well, Those wise people will praise, saying that he lives purely and is not lazy. If one possesses the three stainless knowledges that destroy the Lord of Death, fools will think that he knows nothing and easily slander him. For a person with sinful qualities, if they have gains of food and drink, they will make offerings to them. An arrogant child in monastic robes, for gains of food and drink, clothing and bedding, only increases enemies. Having understood the great faults of respect in this way, reducing deception and eliminating worries, the mindful Bhikshu wanders everywhere. Even though a mouthful of food does not calm the mind, one should not eat for the sake of livelihood; food makes the body abide, and having understood this, one should practice alms-seeking. The reverence and offerings made by those of noble birth are subtle poisonous arrows that are difficult to pull out; the respect that is difficult for people to endure should be understood as being like a swamp. The thirteenth chapter on respect. Do not commit sinful deeds, do not be angry, whoever is angry, in this world and the next, he himself is covered by sins. First, destroy yourself, and then destroy others, like a hawk preying on birds, destroying yourself and destroying others. One who strikes will receive a strike, holding grudges

By anger, one sees the angry. Likewise, scolding with scolding, anger arises in the angry. These other ascetic children, unskilled in the sacred Dharma, even in this very short-lived one, are angry for the sake of prostitutes. Thinking this to be the best, speaking separately and acting accordingly, at the time of breaking up the Sangha here, why do you not make an effort when you are powerless? Breaking bones and killing living beings, stealing horses, cattle, and wealth, and even destroying countries, are like measuring with a bushel afterward. The words spoken after examination by the wise are those that show the field of conduct. If you know this Dharma well, why do you not act? You are an unskilled kind, like a bird working diligently with its mouth. Because you do not know those others, I am diligent in this. Here, whoever is wise, those ones are pacified with gentle words. They say harsh words to me, they rebuke me, saying, "I am defeated, I am defeated." Whoever holds this in their mind, their anger will never cease. They say harsh words to me, they rebuke me, saying, "I am defeated, I am defeated." Whoever does not hold this in their mind, their anger will cease. Here, those who retaliate with anger will never be pacified. Anger is pacified by patience. This is the nature of Dharma. Anger never ceases with anger; anger is pacified by those without anger. Because blood-anger harms the embodied, therefore the wise should not be angry. If one finds a friend who is steadfast, well-settled, and shares together, a wise friend, then one should subdue all defilements and dwell with them with a mindful and joyful mind. If one does not find a friend who is steadfast, well-settled, and shares together, a wise friend, like a king who has abandoned a vast country, one should live alone and not do evil. If you have not found a good friend who acts in accordance with me, since children do not become friends, you should firmly live alone. Since children do not become friends, it is easy to practice alone. Like the elephant in the Matang forest, abandon worries and practice alone. The fourteenth chapter on anger is complete. As taught by the Buddha, whoever has mindfulness of breathing in and out,
