It is measured by the example of the earth, not by heavenly substances. Because those gods heard something, they remembered other lives. Remembering the fruits of those actions, they constantly meditate, and they do not strive for desires, even exceedingly. Even having done so, they are like humans, constantly possessing individual regrets, and there are also the faults of desires. After those well-spoken words were heard by some of the gods, they remembered other lives. Therefore, they remembered the fruits of actions, and for a moment, they do not indulge in desires. Remembering virtue also arises universally. Those gods, here for a moment, can bring benefit and happiness, and they also cause birth in other hundreds and thousands of lives, these all universally occur. This is because the glorious Bodhisattva who greatly engages in benefiting others, made the cause of explaining those verses. Then, again, led by that very powerful one, he begins to look all around that forest. Those gods, with lotus garlands on their heads, possessing their own light, adorned all over with ornaments of heavenly substances, filled with the sound of five musical instruments, satisfied with the fullness of sound. In that forest, trees and fruits, rivers, waterfalls, ponds, and springs are very abundant, extremely excellent, and delightful to the mind. The gods, indulging in carelessness, experiencing a single taste, separated from the fear of birth, old age, and death. They thus frolic, and they have well entered another forest called Flower Garland Forest. In that forest, there are also hundreds and thousands of Sala tree vines, various trees and flowers blooming everywhere, with their colors, smells, shapes, petals, sprouts, and flowers formed into pollen, adorning the surroundings beautifully. All of these are well entwined on the vines. In one of those forests, those that exist are adorned by bees with the nature of seven jewels, with radiant forms and supremely melodious sounds, and various kinds of melodies. In that forest of flower garlands, those gods play various kinds of games with various kinds of flower garlands. Even more beautiful than that, it is adorned by goddesses who are even more exceedingly matched by tenfold. The goddesses are also especially delighted in the forest of flower garlands, having become free from harming each other and having become one in purpose, they pick flowers in the gaps of the light-natured lamp trees of the forest and nearby forests. Among the various kinds of flowers, the fragrance of some travels for five yojanas. Some for ten. Some for twenty. The fragrance of some travels exceedingly for thirty-two yojanas. Thus, in that forest, with various kinds of flowers that are supremely rich in fragrance and also closely associated, the goddesses and gods, being satiated, all play and laugh, and go to that river called the water of heedlessness. That drink also flows perfectly with sound, touch, taste, and form. Having seen that, those gods, with minds of great joy, desiring to drink, sit on the bank of the river. Having become thirsty, they also drink. The bird called Always Satiated dwells supremely on the bank of that very river of heedlessness. It speaks verses, as follows: Sinking completely in the river of heedlessness, being completely led by the realms, the mind being completely bewildered, what use is intoxicating drink? Burned by the fire of the realms, because of not knowing meaning and non-meaning, craving for forests and nearby forests, what has intoxicating drink done? Thus, the bird Always Satiated, having clearly seen those who have become completely attached to the supremely intoxicating drink, then admonishes them.

Having uttered verses that intoxicate, they, not having heard them, again drink that which intoxicates. Those with minds of supreme joy, endowed with the supreme garland of light, also for a long time in that forest of flower garlands performed various and unique intoxicating acts. Afterwards, they themselves were not satisfied with the place, and also became unrestrained by those five objects of desire, and together danced with the sound of the five instruments. They went well to the place called the flower house, and those who wandered about in satiety with the sounds of dance, song, and music walked with arrogance.
