From the time of etc., until the intermediate state of existence, contemplate. How do sentient beings of hell go to the Avīci hell, and upon suffering, even more suffering arises? Having contemplated thus, those evil sentient beings who are overcome by the power of desire, hatred, and ignorance, those who have committed evil deeds, it is said that they go to Avīci hell. In this regard, some heretics, wishing for the world of the gods, throw themselves into fire; some throw themselves from cliffs on the mountainside; some throw themselves into water; some kill by not giving food. Those who are confused by evil paths, deceived by evil teachings, and are ignorant, do not kill. Some, wishing for higher realms, think that if they do not kill by not giving food, or by throwing themselves off cliffs, or by throwing themselves into fire, or by throwing themselves into water, they will attain higher realms, and thus, desiring higher realms, they cause them to be separated from life. Others are due to the nature of unstable minds caused by anger. Thus, those sentient beings who are overcome by the power of the three poisons, if they commit killing, go to Avīci hell. In this regard, some, not knowing that it is a great field of merit, draw blood; similarly, those who cause dissension in the Sangha; also, those who cause Arhats to be separated from life, are overcome by anger towards the field of merit. Thus, all the actions of those who are meaningless and extremely destructive, those sentient beings will be born in the great sentient being hell, Avīci hell. At the time of their death, for some, the fire of Avīci hell arises and appears in their own bodies. For others, immediately after death, they arise in the intermediate state, and after that, they are born in Avīci hell. When one commits the deeds of Avīci hell, from that time onwards, the portion of karma that will be experienced will definitely be burned. Their vows will not arise separately. The extent of virtuous deeds that have been practiced, the burning of experiences, if it is not certain, or if it is experienced at another time, or if it is experienced after birth, they will definitely be born in hell. At that time, they will also be short-lived. Those who could live for a hundred years will only live for about twenty years. If by mind

All those thoughts and mental activities will be as fruitless as sowing seeds on saline soil. From then on, whichever external deity he follows, he will completely abandon it. The end of his actions will be fruitless. His senses will be attached to objects. He will always see bad dreams. He will be associated with all meaningless things. If he has sons, wives, servants, and maids, they will all completely abandon him. He will always be afflicted by hunger and thirst. If he prepares delicious food, it will not be as he wishes, and his voice will become hoarse. His complexion will always be ugly and rough, he will always be confused, and all his relatives and friends will despise him, and sudden fear will arise in his mind. He will see all these worlds shrouded in smoke. His bodily elements will never be in balance as before. He will see ugly sights in the distance, even though there is nothing ugly there. He will be blown by a small wind. He will always be tormented by heat. He will always be afflicted by bile disease. His mouth will always taste bitter and salty. Even if all the beds are soft, they will become rough. The sounds of flutes, kettle drums, earthenware drums, and lutes will be heard as frightening and fearful, let alone other sounds. His nose will also often fail, and he will not smell fragrant substances. His whole body will emit a foul odor. All his hair and body hair will fall out, and his teeth will become ugly. His feet and hands will be severely cracked, and he will completely lose all happiness. In dreams, he will always be tormented by the gods. He will always be afflicted by heart disease. His heart will break. His body will not become ugly. If he wears a hundred flowers, they will quickly wither. His clothes will also wear out quickly, and even if he washes his body and clothes, they will become dirty. If he suddenly goes astray, he will fall, and his body will be damaged by the fall, and he will have many wounds on his body.
