And likewise, all the external water element, whether large, small, low, high, long, or short, is truly seen as the law of decay. Whatever is the law of decay is impermanent. That is also without thought. Whatever is without thought is suffering. Whatever is without arising is without self. Whatever is separated from the path of words of all actions is emptiness. Just as knowing the inner and outer water element as it is, is emptiness, in the same way, the superior, intermediate, and inferior defilements will be pacified. Just as the sky has no place and no elaboration, so too the inner and outer water element has no elaboration and no place, and cultivating patience with the characteristics of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness, this is also the Bodhisattva's close dwelling, which fully ripens sentient beings. Just as the earth element and the water element are, so too the fire element and the wind element should be practiced extensively. Son of lineage, furthermore, the form that arises from the four great elements is like a cause of uncertainty. Whether it is internal or external, large or small, low or high, long or short, all of these are unreal and like images, and the six sense bases are empowered, from the earth element to the cause of consciousness. Whatever arises moment by moment, the nature of the law of decay, for that decay and cessation, contemplate it as the decay of arising. With no reality and no self as the object, without a path of words, without wandering, unborn, unarisen, selfless, without self, in the manner of the nature of peaceful abiding, in the manner of no thought and no desire, in the manner of no sign, in the manner of higher seeing, one should contemplate. Knowing that there is no characteristic, separated from all defilements, separated from appearance, selfless, separated from the actions of the mind, without letters, separated from cause and condition. Knowing that unreality is separated from the extremely subtle moment. Knowing that all actions have no sign and that there is no eternal continuation. Knowing that all actions have no place and are close.

Completely knowing peace. In these ways, contemplate form as an empty mass of foam. From the absence of characteristics to the absence of signs, one truly sees all of them as the nature of exhaustion. Whatever is the nature of exhaustion is impermanent. Whatever is impermanent is without thought. Whatever is without thought is also suffering. Whatever is unborn is also without self. Whatever is separated from the path of all formations is also emptiness. Just as one thoroughly knows that inner and outer forms are like a mass of foam, without substance and empty like a reflection, in this way, the afflictions of the superior, middling, and inferior will become peaceful. Just as the sky is without focus and unconditioned, so too is form like a bubble, without perception and without change, and without feeling, without impermanence, without suffering, without self, and one should cultivate forbearance that is free from the characteristics of emptiness, and one should observe the forbearance that closely sustains the complete maturation of sentient beings by the Bodhisattva. Son of good family, furthermore, form, from the outside to the inside, to whatever is near, by its very nature, the cause resembling a reflection does not appear, and like an illusion, one should contemplate the body as the characteristic of manifestation. Form has no attachment to anything, nor is there pride. Knowing that there is no taking or discarding, form is non-dual. Knowing that all phenomena truly incline towards the realm of phenomena, all forms of the four great elements are without any difference. One truly knows that all paths of words are without a place. Form has not gone elsewhere and is without an object, and is separated from sudden suffering and the two knots of continuity and discontinuity, and like a reflection, one should contemplate it as without a place. The characteristic of all forms is contemplated as without focus like a mass of foam, without arising, and utterly without nature. The four great elements are pure, without discrimination, unborn, not manifestly fabricated, one should contemplate that all phenomena are without involvement in the stream of cutting off proliferation. The form aggregate of the four great elements
