All those interdependent dragons saw their bodies become very small, like a stick for applying eye medicine. They could not remain as their previous bodies, nor could they reappear. They were all frightened and scared, and hairs called "hair standing on end" grew from their pores. They all bowed down with great reverence to Joyful and Near Joyful, and said: When meat flies, long-beaked flies, and venomous flies appeared in our city, we abandoned all our dwellings and came here seeking refuge, unable to go anywhere from here. Now that our bodies have become so small, please save us so that we may return to our dwellings. Please grant us fearlessness. Joyful and Near Joyful both said: This shramana is a cunning trickster, the son of the Shakya clan is a magician. Since entering this Buddha-field, all bodies have become weakened. He has filled all the dragons' dwellings with meat flies, long-beaked flies, and venomous snakes. We came here to protect this land, but everyone has lost their strength. Gautama is also a person with evil intentions, and because of that action, his magical powers have also declined. His body has also become small, and he can be seen everywhere on the cushion. He has made our bodies small as well, and we are imprisoned in this prison, unable to do anything. Seek help from the fearless god. 其中一些向四大天王顶礼。一些向帝释天顶礼。一些向无诤顶礼。一些向兜率天顶礼。一些向化乐天顶礼。一些向他化自在天顶礼。一些向大梵天顶礼。所有龙王中，龙王海如此说道：诸天及天主，皆已安住于此，行持种种供养，乔达摩乃众生之救护所，汝等为何未曾见？苦行猛烈之大仙，汝等寻求他人为友，为何不向骏护、高翔、星喜及弃恶子顶礼？此后，所有龙族中，一些向仙人极具光荣者顶礼。一些向所依者顶礼。一些向骏护顶礼。一些向高翔者顶礼。一些向星喜顶礼。一些向仙人弃恶之子顶礼。他们向具有五种神通者寻求庇护。又于彼时，具有五种神通之仙人们，在雪山西侧，于仙人星喜前，听闻赞颂释迦胜族之功德而安住。彼等仙人听闻所有龙族哀嚎呼救。听闻后，彼等五仙从座而起，向菩萨摩诃萨星喜如此说道：世尊，仙人，您是否见到所有龙族于能仁之住处受损，并向我等寻求庇护？请起程前往，使所有龙族解脱。彼说道：汝等稍待。天、龙及无数夜叉等，皆已安住于我前，询问梵天之住处无相之法，我当令彼等之心皆得满足。此后，所有仙人皆至星喜之双足前。

Some pay homage to the Four Great Kings. Some pay homage to Indra. Some pay homage to Araṇemi. Some pay homage to Tuṣita. Some pay homage to Nirmāṇarati. Some pay homage to Paranirmita-vaśavartin. Some pay homage to Mahābrahmā. Among all the Nāga kings, the Nāga king Ocean spoke thus: 'All these gods and lords of gods are assembled here, performing various kinds of offerings, and Gautama is the refuge for all beings. Why have you not seen him? Great ascetics with fierce austerities, you seek others as friends, why do you not pay homage to Aśvatara, Uttaṅga, Tārakānandā, and Droṇaputra?' Then, among all those Nāgas, some pay homage to the sage who is exceedingly glorious. Some pay homage to Bhṛgu. Some pay homage to Aśvatara. Some pay homage to Uttaṅga. Some pay homage to Tārakānandā. Some pay homage to the son of the sage Droṇa. They seek refuge in those who possess the five superknowledges. Again, at that time, those sages possessing the five superknowledges, on the western side of the snowy mountains, in front of the sage Tārakānandā, were listening to the praise of the qualities of the Śākya lion and abiding there. Those sages heard all the Nāgas crying out in distress. Having heard this, those five sages rose from their seats and spoke thus to the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Tārakānandā: 'Bhagavan, sage, do you see that all the Nāgas are harmed in the abode of the Śākya sage and are seeking refuge in us? Please arise and go there, and liberate all the Nāga hosts.' He said: 'Wait a moment. Gods, Nāgas, and countless Yakṣas are assembled before me, inquiring about the abode of Brahmā, the formless state, and I shall satisfy their minds.' Then, all the sages went to the two feet of Tārakānandā.

All bowed their heads and circumambulated three times, then entered by means of magical power and settled on the foundation of the place of the Sage Who Can Conquer. Then, those dragons bowed their heads to them and said this: "You are fortunate, endowed with wisdom, having reached the other shore of all means, a great sage, please protect us. Please completely liberate us from this fear of prison." Then, those sages said this: "We cannot completely liberate you from here. On the western side of the snowy mountains, there is one known as the Lord of Hand-Goers, the master of all sages, renowned for great power, abounding in wisdom, means, and majesty, called Pleased with Stars.
