What decadence will befall those who make full use of them? The Blessed One said: Great King, if I, from royal families like gourds to commoners, seize the enjoyments and close uses dedicated to those who abide in the Dharma and are rich in virtues, and enjoy them myself, if I were to speak of the occurrence of those who commit wrong deeds, then at that time they would also abandon, having obtained the opportunity of my teaching activities, and would not believe. They will possess both harms of the great terror of destruction. King Endowed with Form twice addressed the Blessed One thus: Blessed One, please teach! Sugata, please teach! Venerable Blessed One, those who fear the next world, and who well explain the Dharma and Discipline well spoken by the Blessed One, and who truly uphold and clarify them, noble lineages from royal families to commoners will arise. Blessed One, those who, having heard the teaching activities of your command, with supreme strength and diligence, will well explain and clarify the teachings of the Victorious One, and will completely protect them. And for those who have thus truly entered, those who abide in the Dharma, and those who are rich in virtues, they will also make offerings, protect, and completely guard. Neither householders nor renunciates will plunder. Venerable Blessed One, what decadence will befall a householder who seizes the enjoyments and close uses of those who abide in the Dharma, and enjoys them himself? If the origin of destruction is explained, then those people, upon hearing of my teachings and activities, will regard them as something to be abandoned and will not believe in them. Those people will possess both harms of the great harm of destruction. O Blessed One, King Endowed with Form (name of a king) requested three times, saying: O Blessed One, please teach! O Sugata, please teach! O Blessed One, those who fear the next world, and the well-taught Dharma and Vinaya of the Blessed One are properly grasped and elucidated, from the royal caste to the commoner caste, noble lineages will arise. Those people, upon hearing the teachings and activities of the Blessed One, will, with great strength and diligence, well explain and propagate the Buddha's teachings. To those who have thus correctly entered the Dharma, and those who abide in the Dharma, and those who are rich in qualities, they will also make offerings, protect, and fully support. Those who are householders and those who are renunciates will not be robbed. The possessions and necessities of those who abide in the Dharma will not be robbed. The Blessed One said: Great King, well done, well done! Your courage is good! Great King, in the future, those of the royal caste, Brahmins, Vaishyas, and Shudras, to those who abide in the Dharma, whether it be the foundation of a house, the foundation of a field, the foundation of a monastery, a garden, slaves, servants, bedding, cushions, medicine for the sick, and utensils, thus offered, even four-legged animals, there will be instances of robbery or theft. From the royal caste to the commoner caste, all these people will quickly possess twenty undesirable things that occur in this life. What are these twenty things? They will be abandoned by the gods.
