Then, the Blessed One said: Great King, likewise, if someone sells people as slaves, sells women as servants, from the land of houses to the land of fields, even among sheep, I am not their teacher, nor are they my disciples. They also harm all the perfectly enlightened Buddhas who have passed into the three times. They are not suitable to dwell in such designated dwellings for those who abide in the Dharma, in a manner consistent with the Dharma. Whichever of the Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Vaishyas, or Shudras, if they jointly support a sinful Bhikshu and work for their benefit, and do not move from this place to another, from the Kshatriyas to the Shudras, they are a great harm to all the Blessed Buddhas who have passed into the three times. Even if they have given many gifts, they will still be born in the great hell of Avici after death. Great King, therefore, truly observing what is beneficial to me, one should not dwell on the side of jointly supporting a sinful Bhikshu. Why is that? Because they are harming all gods and humans, not for benefit, entering to cause them to fall into evil paths, and entering to cause the lineage of the Three Jewels to be cut off. Great King, whichever of the Kshatriyas, Brahmins, Vaishyas, or Shudras, if they truly abide in the Dharma side of the Bhikshus who abide in the Dharma, and not on the side of the sinful Bhikshus, even if they do not give gifts, they are still the excellent patrons of all the Blessed Buddhas who have passed into the three times, because of the cause of the Dharma side. For the sake of protecting the true Dharma, they should be regarded as excellent holders of the true Dharma. After death, they will also be born in the pure Buddha-fields, and before long, even until they attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Great King, thus it is.

Therefore, in your hands, suitable for the royal lineage, I completely entrust the Dharma and teachings to you. Until the end of the final five hundred years, you must truly uphold my Dharma. By this cause, my Dharma and the lineage of the Three Jewels will endure for a long time, benefiting and bringing happiness to gods and humans. Then, the Blessed One said to King Rupakaya (gzugs can snying po): Venerable Blessed One, I am called a 'counselor.' In what way is the Blessed One established as a counselor? The Blessed One replied: Great King, I have granted two monks to be counselors. Which two? Namely, the Arhat who meditates on the eight liberations, and the learning monk who constantly enters the stream. Great King, I have granted these two monks to act as counselors. The eleventh chapter of the Great Assembly Mahayana Sutra, namely, the first assembly of preserving the sacred Dharma from the chapter of the Essence of the Sun, is complete. From the Sutra called the Essence of the Sun, a section of the Greatly Extensive Great Division: First, the chapter on preserving the sacred Dharma.
