I dreamed of finding white clothes. I dreamed of a deity holding an umbrella on the crown of my head. These are the four dreams. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of Bodhisattvas attaining Samadhi. What are the four? Dreaming of a beautiful maiden, adorned with beautiful ornaments, offering scattered flowers. Dreaming of a flock of white swans flying in the sky, making sounds. Dreaming of the Tathagata placing his hand, adorned with many lights, on my head. Dreaming of the Tathagata sitting on a lotus flower, meditating. These are the four dreams. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of Bodhisattvas seeing the Tathagata. What are the four? Dreaming of the mandala of the moon appearing. Dreaming of the mandala of the sun appearing. Dreaming of a lotus flower blooming. Dreaming of the extremely peaceful conduct of Brahma. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of Bodhisattvas seeing the Tathagata. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of the Bodhisattvas' own characteristics. What are the four? Dreaming of a great Sala tree filled with leaves, flowers, and various fruits. Dreaming of a golden container filled with ghee. Dreaming of the surface of the sky filled with umbrellas, banners, and flags. Dreaming of a great Chakravartin king. These are the four dreams. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of Bodhisattvas subduing the Maras. What are the four? Dreaming of a huge giant suppressing all giants, holding a banner and advancing. Dreaming of a great hero overcoming the enemy and advancing. Dreaming of a king being enthroned. Dreaming of myself sitting under the Bodhi tree, subduing the Maras. These are the four dreams. These four sons of gods are the corresponding dreams of the signs of non-retrogression of Bodhisattvas. What are the four? Dreaming of having a white turban tied on my head. Dreaming of myself performing impermanent sacrifices. Dreaming of myself sitting on a huge Dharma seat.

Seeing them sitting on a lotus, and seeing the Tathagata sitting at the Bodhi tree and teaching the Dharma, these are the four. These four sons of gods are dreams of the causes and conditions for Bodhisattvas to attain the essence of Bodhi. What are the four? Seeing a vase, seeing birds and sparrows surrounding it, wherever one goes, all the trees rise up, bow, and pay homage, and seeing a great light like the color of gold. These four sons of gods are dreams of the causes and conditions for Bodhisattvas to attain the essence of Bodhi.
