Those who abide in the place of descent are as follows: they abide in the land of the abyss of evil destinies, and they abide in the place of being impoverished by the Dharma. Maitreya, therefore, one should protect the Dharma taught by the Tathagata with skillful means. Then, Manjushri, who became a youth, and the Bodhisattva, the aggregate of wisdom perfectly accomplished, and the Bodhisattva Seeing Meaningful, and the Bodhisattva with courage in one place, the wisdom of definite understanding, and the Bodhisattva, the wisdom that shows the mind of extreme certainty, and the Bodhisattva who speaks with wisdom and courage, and the Bodhisattva Fearless and Truly Illuminating, and the Bodhisattva Supreme Joy King, and the Bodhisattva Place Without Pride, and the Bodhisattva Thinking of the Ritual of the Infinite Buddha Fields, and the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, and the Bodhisattva Incense Elephant, and the Bodhisattva Wool Elephant Incense Elephant, and the Bodhisattva Glorious Voice Lord, and the Bodhisattva Completely Eliminating All Obscurations, and the Bodhisattva Abiding Without Abandoning Diligence, and the Bodhisattva Adorned with a Hundred Thousand Qualities, and the Bodhisattva Thinking Without Bewilderment in the Omniscient Wisdom, and the Bodhisattva Proclamation, the Victory Banner of Fame, and the Bodhisattva Benefiting with All Dharmas, and the Bodhisattva Abiding Without Separating from the Buddha Field, and the Bodhisattva Subduing and Overpowering with the Glory Adorned with Sandalwood, and the Bodhisattva Famous for Being Worshipped by All the Worlds, those twenty Bodhisattvas said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, it is so. Tathagata, it is so, we also exist in the Buddha fields of the east, as many as the sands of sixty Ganges rivers. If we attend to and honor the Buddhas and Bhagavatans, in all places, the Bhagavan himself is the one who teaches the Dharma. Similarly, when we exist in the realms of the ten directions, we also teach the Dharma to sentient beings in the same way. Bhagavan.

Among those who have passed away, when we traveled in the Buddha-field with seven umbrellas, we did not see other Buddhas and returned here to listen to the Dharma. Then, the Blessed One said to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, look! The realm and wisdom of the Tathagata are so immeasurable. The Buddha's realm is so inconceivable. Thus, the Tathagata is unequal and equal with the Dharmas of the Tathagata. Manjushri, those foolish beings will say this: The conduct of Bodhisattvas for the sake of the Tathagata is Prajnaparamita. Manjushri, for example, the conduct of a Bodhisattva is immeasurable conduct. For example, the conduct of a Bodhisattva is incomparable conduct. For example, the conduct of a Bodhisattva is non-grasping conduct. For example, the conduct of a Bodhisattva is non-abandoning conduct. The conduct of a Bodhisattva is to be steadfast in vows and to have superior intention that is completely pure. The conduct of a Bodhisattva is to benefit others without being weary. Manjushri, if such pure conduct of Bodhisattvas were my Dharma, then it would be difficult to see. Manjushri, therefore, all of you twenty virtuous people must, by skillful means, make others know that I have perfectly accomplished Bodhi in countless kalpas, abide in truly receiving the true Dharma, and be diligent. Be steadfast in your vows. Have a mind without anger. May sentient beings not fall into the great precipice of abandoning the Dharma. Then, Manjushri asked: Blessed One, what is meant by abandoning the Dharma? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, whoever thinks that some of the teachings spoken by the Tathagata are good and some are bad, that is abandoning the Dharma. Whoever abandons the Dharma, by abandoning the Dharma, is slandering the Tathagata and denigrating the Sangha. If they say: This is reasonable, this is unreasonable.

It is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "This was spoken for the sake of Bodhisattvas," or "This was spoken for the sake of Śrāvakas," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "This was spoken for the sake of Pratyekabuddhas," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "This is the training of a Bodhisattva," or "This is not the training of a Bodhisattva," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "There is confidence," or "There is no confidence," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "The Dharma is shown as non-Dharma," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "Even without the appearance of a Buddha, one can obtain a dhāraṇī," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "The attainment of obtaining a dhāraṇī is not completely pure," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "The conduct of the speaker of Dharma is endowed with faults," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "The practice of the speaker of Dharma is not perfect," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one speaks carelessly, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one speaks through conduct, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one speaks through the deterioration of conduct and discipline, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "One does not understand through confidence," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "The appearance is not well explained," it is abandoning the Dharma. If, because of not understanding, one makes words and words contradictory, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one says, "One enters the Tathāgata's teachings through the name of letters," it is abandoning the Dharma. If one makes Sūtras and Sūtras contradictory, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one makes verses and verses contradictory, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one believes in some meanings and does not believe in some meanings, it is abandoning the Dharma. When teaching the Dharma, if one diverts to other topics, it is abandoning the Dharma. If one does not agitate, it is abandoning the Dharma.
