The Noble Sūtra of the Great Vehicle called "The Collection of All Distinctions". The Noble Sūtra of the Great Vehicle called "The Collection of All Distinctions". In Indian language: Ārya sarva vidalya semagraha nāma mahāyāna sūtra. In Tibetan language: The Noble Sūtra of the Great Vehicle called "The Collection of All Distinctions". Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rājagṛha on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great Saṃgha of monks consisting of sixty-two thousand monks, as well as eighty koṭis of Bodhisattvas, sixty thousand gods, and many thousands of lay devotees. At that time, the Blessed One was about to enter into complete Nirvāṇa, and this was the last summer retreat that the Blessed One would spend in Rājagṛha. Then, the Blessed One entered into a Samādhi such that this three-thousand great-thousand world realm was adorned with silk banners, decorated with vases and fumigated with incense, filled with scattered flowers, and covered with hundreds of thousands of lotus petals. He entered into such a Samādhi. In this three-thousand great-thousand world realm, there were as many billions of Brahmās as there were, and each of those Brahmās had billions of attendants. They all went to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, folded their palms, paid homage to the Blessed One, and sat down on one side. In this three-thousand great-thousand world realm, there were the sons of the gods of the Pure Abodes, as well as the sons of the gods of Īśvara, the great Īśvaras, the lords of the gods, the lords of the Nāgas, the lords of the Yakṣas, the lords of the Asuras, the lords of the Khagarbhas, the lords of the Kinnaras, and the lords of the Mahoragas, as many as there were, all with hundreds of thousands of attendants, went to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and

Having joined their palms, they prostrated to the Bhagavan and sat down on one side. In the ten directions, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, as many Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who were powerful and renowned also went to where the Bhagavan was, and with their heads they prostrated at the feet of the Bhagavan, and having joined their palms, they prostrated to the Bhagavan and sat down on one side. At that time, this great trichiliocosm, from the peak of existence downwards, was filled with gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, who were powerful and renowned, so that there was not even the space of the tip of a staff. Then, the Bhagavan, while contemplating and knowing, arose from that samadhi. Having arisen, he looked at the assembly three times. Having looked at the assembly, he also made a great lion's roar three times. Having roared, he also extended his tongue three times. Having extended his tongue three times, he also covered the great trichiliocosm three times with his tongue. Having covered the great trichiliocosm three times with his tongue, and having manifested the abhijna of covering, he looked again. Then, the assembly, complete with all, arose from their seats, joined their palms, prostrated to the Bhagavan, and sat down again. Then, the Bhagavan spoke to the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya: "Maitreya, the Tathagata will soon pass into nirvana. Now is the time for you to ask the Tathagata. Now is the opportunity. Those of you who have doubts about the Dharma, if you do not ask the Tathagata, you will regret it later, saying, 'The Tathagata was clearly present, but we did not ask. How could this be?'" Having said this, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Maitreya said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, you
