无量产生。那是什么缘故呢？舍利子，我过去行菩萨行时，曾劝请如来们转法轮，那个善根使我得到帝释天和娑婆世界之主梵天劝请世尊，为了利益众多生灵，为了众多生灵的安乐，为了对世间的慈悲，为了广大的生灵，为了天和人们的利益，为了利益和安乐，请您转法轮。舍利子，我过去为了菩提修行时，曾劝请如来们长久住世，那个善根使我获得四无畏、如来的十力、十八不共佛法、四无碍解、大慈和大悲，以及获得圆寂，我的正法也将长久住世。如是宣说之后，具寿舍利子对世尊如是禀告：世尊，无论是善男子还是善女子，如果进入声闻乘，或者进入缘觉乘，或者进入大乘，或者其他众生，为了证得无上正等觉，为了现证圆满菩提，为了成为一切智者，应该如何回向这些善根呢？如是禀告之后，世尊对具寿舍利子如是说道：舍利子，无论是善男子还是善女子，如果进入声闻乘，或者进入缘觉乘，或者进入大乘，或者其他众生，想要现证无上正等觉， 每天三次，晚上三次，这样说：在无始无终的轮回中，我所积聚的善根，

It produces immeasurable [merit]. Why is that? Shariputra, when I was practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva in the past, I requested the Thus-Gone Ones to turn the wheel of Dharma. That root of virtue caused Indra, the lord of the gods, and Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, to request the Bhagavan, saying, 'For the benefit of many beings, for the happiness of many beings, out of compassion for the world, for the sake of great numbers of beings, and for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans, please turn the wheel of Dharma.' Shariputra, when I was practicing for the sake of enlightenment in the past, I requested the Thus-Gone Ones to remain for a long time. That root of virtue caused me to obtain the four fearlessnesses, the ten powers of the Thus-Gone One, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, the four analytical knowledges, great love, great compassion, and the attainment of complete nirvana. My sacred Dharma will also abide for a long time. After he had spoken, the venerable Shariputra said this to the Bhagavan: 'Bhagavan, whether it is a son of good family or a daughter of good family who has entered the vehicle of the Hearers, or who has entered the vehicle of the Solitary Buddhas, or who has entered the Great Vehicle, or any other sentient being, wishing to awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, wishing to fully awaken to perfect enlightenment, and wishing to become all-knowing, how should they dedicate these roots of virtue?' After he had spoken, the Bhagavan said this to the venerable Shariputra: 'Shariputra, whether it is a son of good family or a daughter of good family who has entered the vehicle of the Hearers, or who has entered the vehicle of the Solitary Buddhas, or who has entered the Great Vehicle, or any other sentient being, wishing to fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, three times a day and three times at night, say these words: 'In the beginningless and endless cycle of existence, the root of virtue that I have accumulated,'

Is it the Buddha? Is it the Dharma? Is it the Sangha? Is it an individual? Or even those who have gone to the realm of animals? Or even to other sentient beings, whatever it may be, such as offering a single morsel of food or drink, or bestowing favor, or making requests, or taking refuge, or whatever virtuous root possesses the basis of training, or whatever virtuous root possesses individual favor, or whatever meritorious deed possesses rejoicing, or whatever virtuous root possesses supplication, all of these are gathered, measured, and combined together, and with a mind that is tamed and liberated, and without clinging, are bestowed upon all sentient beings. Just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, know how to bestow all virtuous roots upon all sentient beings with the Buddha's wisdom that has no attachment, in the same way, I bestow these virtuous roots. May all sentient beings possess jewels in their hands! May they possess inexhaustible treasures of the sky and enjoyments, and inexhaustible merit, and inexhaustible Dharma, and inexhaustible wisdom, and inexhaustible courage, and may they attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and may they obtain the omniscient wisdom! Whatever merit arises from my bestowing of virtuous roots upon all sentient beings, all of these are gathered, measured, and combined together, and completely dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. By this virtuous root, may I and all sentient beings attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment! May we also obtain the omniscient wisdom! Just as the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas of the past, when practicing for enlightenment, dedicated their virtuous roots in order to become omniscient, in the same way, I also dedicate my virtuous roots in order to become omniscient. By this virtuous root, may I and all sentient beings attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment! May we also obtain the omniscient wisdom!

願如是。猶如未來之菩薩摩訶薩等，為菩提而行時，為成就一切智，而完全迴向諸善根，如是，我亦為成就一切智，而完全迴向諸善根。以此善根，願我及一切有情，現證無上正等菩提。亦願獲得一切智智。猶如彼等現在出現之菩薩摩訶薩等，為菩提而行時，為成就一切智，而完全迴向諸善根，如是，我亦為成就一切智，而完全迴向諸善根。以此善根，願我及一切有情，現證無上正等菩提。亦願獲得一切智智。猶如薄伽梵如來釋迦牟尼佛，安住於菩提樹心，安住於不可思議、無垢、極白之佛陀三摩地，降伏魔王，無論是知、是見、是證、是現證菩提，所有一切，於黎明曙光乍現之際，以一剎那相應之智慧，獲得甘露，現證不死之道路而成佛，如是，願我及一切有情，亦現證無上正等菩提。亦願獲得一切智智。猶如薄伽梵如來無量光、妙光、善光、福德光、不動、獅子、百光、高光、光網、寶光照耀、光焰、光明王、極莊嚴、寶頂、法幢等。

May it be so. Just as the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas of the future, when practicing for enlightenment, completely dedicate all roots of virtue for the sake of attaining omniscience, so too, may I completely dedicate all roots of virtue for the sake of attaining omniscience. By this root of virtue, may I and all sentient beings realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. May we also attain the wisdom of omniscience. Just as those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who appear in the present, when practicing for enlightenment, completely dedicate all roots of virtue for the sake of attaining omniscience, so too, may I completely dedicate all roots of virtue for the sake of attaining omniscience. By this root of virtue, may I and all sentient beings realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. May we also attain the wisdom of omniscience. Just as the Bhagavan Tathagata Shakyamuni, residing at the heart of the Bodhi tree, abiding in the inconceivable, stainless, and exceedingly white Samadhi of the Buddha, vanquished the evil Mara, and whatever is to be known, seen, realized, or manifested as enlightenment, all of that, at the break of dawn when the first rays of light appear, with wisdom endowed with a single instant, attained the nectar, manifested the path of immortality, and became a Buddha, so too, may I and all sentient beings also realize unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. May we also attain the wisdom of omniscience. Just as the Bhagavan Tathagatas Amitabha, Supreme Light, Auspicious Light, Fortune Light, Akshobhya, Lion, Hundred Rays, High Ray, Light Net, Jewel Light Radiance, Blazing Light, King of Light, Exceedingly Adorned, Jewel Crest, Dharma Banner, and so forth.
