That application of mind which thinks, 'I shall manifest this,' is with signs, with elaboration, with objects, with afflictions, with disturbances, with fears, with diseases, with suffering, with pain, and with poison. That application of mind is not correct. The son of the gods said: Mañjuśrī, what is correct application? Mañjuśrī said: Son of the gods, in the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even the five deeds of immediate retribution are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even those who have become seers are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even the dharmas of ordinary beings are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even the dharmas of those who are learning are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even the dharmas of those who are no longer learning are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, that which is equal to suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn; in the ultimate sense, even the dharmas of the perfectly awakened Buddhas are equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what are the dharmas of the perfectly awakened Buddhas equal to? In the ultimate sense, suchness, the element of reality, and the utterly unborn are also equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what are the dharmas of the perfectly awakened Buddhas equal to? In the ultimate sense, nirvāṇa is also equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what is nirvāṇa equal to? In the ultimate sense, saṃsāra is also equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what is saṃsāra equal to? In the ultimate sense, all afflictions are also equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what are all afflictions equal to? In the ultimate sense, purification is also equal to that. In the ultimate sense, what is purification equal to? In the ultimate sense, all dharmas are also equal to that. Thus, in the ultimate sense, the virtue of correctly applying all dharmas to equality

The request is the son of the gods, in terms of ultimate truth, it is a correct union, but it is not as it is said. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, with what equality can one attain complete purification in the ultimate truth? With what equality can it be said in the ultimate truth that all dharmas are also equal to it? Manjushri said: In terms of ultimate truth, all dharmas are equal in that they are extremely unborn; in terms of ultimate truth, all dharmas are equal in that they are extremely unarisen; in terms of ultimate truth, all dharmas are equal in that they are extremely without substance. Son of the gods, in terms of ultimate truth, all dharmas are equal. Why is that? Son of the gods, in terms of ultimate truth, because of the extremely unborn nature, there is no difference to be made among all dharmas. Son of the gods, for example, the space inside an earthenware pot and the space inside a jeweled pot are the very nature of space, and in terms of ultimate truth, there is not the slightest difference. Son of the gods, likewise, whatever is affliction, in terms of ultimate truth, is extremely unborn; whatever is complete purification, in terms of ultimate truth, is also extremely unborn; in terms of ultimate truth, samsara is also extremely unborn; in terms of ultimate truth, even nirvana is extremely unborn. In this regard, there is not the slightest difference in ultimate truth. Why is that? In terms of ultimate truth, it is because all dharmas are extremely unborn. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, how should Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas strive for the noble truths? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, if Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas do not strive for the noble truths, how can they teach the Dharma in a way that does not show it to the Shravakas? Son of the gods, although it is so, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's meditation on the truth is with a view, while the Shravaka's meditation on the truth is without a view. Why is that? Son of the gods, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas observe all sentient beings in conventional truth, and even if they meditate in a way that does not meditate on the truths, they do not manifest the extreme of reality in the form of aiming at non-existence. In order to accomplish skillful means in conventional truth.
