Therefore, the realm of Dharma does not exist as something to be fixated upon, nor does it exist as a definite thing to be fixated upon. In order for beings to understand the bonds of inverted views and untruth, the realm of Dharma is spoken of. The realm of Dharma is also taught in order to settle each ordinary person in the absence of a realm. Why is that? Because in the realm of Dharma, there is no realm of Dharma. The so-called realm of Dharma arises from the aggregation of many causes and conditions. Dharma that arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions has no inherent nature. Because causes and conditions have no inherent nature, causes and conditions arise from the continuous stream of inverted views that are aggregated from many things. The Tathagata, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, speaks in conventional terms, and the realm of Dharma is taught in order to show the Dharma that is without a realm. The realm of Dharma does not abide within, does not abide without, nor does it abide between the two, yet each ordinary person knows and sees virtuous and non-virtuous Dharmas. It is said that the realm of Dharma does not know and see all Dharmas, because ultimately it is the characteristic of emptiness, and ultimately it is taught as emptiness, which is the realm of Dharma. Why is that? Because the absence of anything is the realm of Dharma, since there is no definite characteristic of "existence" in the realm of Dharma. For example, the sky has no definite characteristic; like the sky, the realm of Dharma is also the same, having no definite characteristic. The realm of Dharma is taught in order to destroy the characteristics of Dharma; the absence of a realm is the realm of Dharma. Why is that? Because the realm of Dharma does not abide in the past, does not abide in the future, and does not abide in the present. Because it depends on many causes and conditions, it is designated as the realm of Dharma because it encounters causes and conditions. How do sentient beings designate it as the realm of Dharma? The wise know the absence of a realm as the realm of Dharma; the realm of Dharma is neither one nor different. In the realm of Dharma, there are neither many nor even a few characteristics of the realm of Dharma. The realm of Dharma is called a realm by way of relying on a realm. Those yogis who realize the realm of Dharma, cut off (afflictions), and know and see the absence of a realm. The aspects of the realm of Dharma of the three realms.

Because there is no obstructing mark, it is said to be the realm of Dharma because it distinguishes as Dharma from the aggregation of many causes and conditions. It is said to be the realm of Dharma because it shows that there is no definite nature by classifying it as Dharma. Wise people do not see Dharma as born because they see the realm of Dharma as having marks, because whatever Dharma is born is unborn. Why is that? Because the realm of Dharma has no marks. Wise people realize and understand that the nature of Dharma has no marks, so it is said that the realm of Dharma has no marks of distinction, because without marks there is no distinction, so it is called the realm of Dharma. The realm of Dharma has no place to dwell, no dwelling, no place of origin, and no place to rely on. The realm of Dharma has not been born from the beginning, so there is no birth in the realm of Dharma. Why is that? Because the realm of Dharma has no realm. Furthermore, the realm of Dharma does not exist because of aggregation, because it does not aggregate, does not separate, does not manifestly aggregate, and has no certainty, so it is called the realm of Dharma. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas thus distinguish and realize the realm of Dharma as having no realm. World Holder, how do Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas distinguish and realize the realm of consciousness? Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas think like this: the unborn realm is the realm of consciousness, and the uncertain realm is the realm of consciousness. The realm of consciousness has no things, no definite Dharma, which shows that the Dharma of the realm of consciousness has no nature. Why is that? Because in the realm of consciousness, there is no object that can be regarded as the realm of consciousness. The realm of consciousness is not real, there is nothing, it has perversity, and it is known as consciousness because it is recognized as Dharma from the initial operation of consciousness. It is called the realm of consciousness in order to follow the foolish ordinary people. The noble ones know and realize the non-realm as the realm of consciousness, and nothing is real.
