One should recite thirty-three times. Whoever recites this ritual in this way will undoubtedly be freed from any fear or harm. If practiced, no matter what work is started, there is nothing that will not be accomplished. Whether one practices, or ties a thread, or writes and wears it, one will be freed from all harm, and a person with merit will obtain it in this very life. Even if one does not obtain it in this life, one will obtain it in the next life without being devoured by demons. Tadyathā. Gabili. Kapila. Binṭe. Bhūnajarastu. Milatalamilatala. Addhare svāhā. (Tibetan: ཏདྱ་ཐཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: तद्यथा, Sanskrit Romanization: Tadyathā., Literal Chinese meaning: Thus.) Whoever recites this dharani should be loving towards all sentient beings. The method of practice is as follows: Having bathed well and put on clean clothes, without eating food, one should recite three thousand times in front of a stupa containing relics or an image of the Buddha. Its incense is as follows: White incense, camphor, duruka, black cardamom, shaileya, etc., should be burned as incense. Whoever recites this ritual in this way will be separated from all anger and hatred. Gather sandalwood, saffron, sweet wood, karkoti, juniper, and these medicines, and recite this dharani three thousand times. If worn on the body, evil spells will not be able to harm him, and even if harm has already been done, it will be destroyed. One with a loving heart and who upholds the precepts should recite. For this, the incense to be burned is white rosin, camphor, kalanusari, shaileyaga, and duruka, and a butter lamp soaked in these should be lit. The method of practice is this: wear clean clothes and recite one hundred and eight times in front of a stupa containing relics or a Buddha statue, and also prepare this eye medicine, namely saffron, white sugar, and honey mixed together and applied to the eyes, the eyes will not become bad, and all eye diseases will disappear. The incense is a mixture to be burned. Recite the eye medicine one hundred and eight times. Recite seven times into water each day and wash the eyes with it. Tadyatha. Varadtse. Viradtse. Kuthale. Migtrele. Ailai Mailai. Tadga Tadgule Svaha. This dharani mantra is for remembering the Buddha. The method of practice is this: one who upholds the precepts, with a pure mind, recites nine hundred times in front of a Buddha statue, burns mixed incense, places a butter lamp of grain butter soaked in fragrance, a bowl, water soaked in fragrance, and one taste. After reciting over the butter, apply it to the head and mouth, and one will be liberated from all head diseases. If one drinks it, memory will arise. If one who wishes to study the Dharma drinks this butter, they will become intelligent. Whatever dharani mantra one practices, one should recite it completely as mentioned here, and recite all dharani mantras and the names of the Buddhas thirty-three times in each of the ten directions. When reciting the dharani mantra, recite the essence of Amitayus three times a day and three times at night in the ten directions.
