Teaching the Dharma. To some sentient beings, the Dharma is taught through manifestations of melodious sounds without a visible body. To some sentient beings, the Dharma is taught through the form of Gandharvas, with the joyous combination of songs and musical sounds. To some sentient beings, the Dharma is taught by showing clouds, thunder, lightning, and continuous rain through the union of the mandala of dragons. To some who are afflicted by hunger and thirst, the Dharma is taught by giving them divine food and drink, making them happy. To those hell-beings who are tormented by suffering, the fires of hell are extinguished by the power of miracles, and radiance is infused into every pore, bringing them happiness, and the Dharma is taught. To blind sentient beings, eyes are given through the power of miracles, and the Dharma is taught to those who have gained sight. To those sentient beings who are without ears and have become deaf, ears are given through the power of miracles, and the Dharma is taught to them. To those sentient beings who are afflicted by various diseases, they are made free from illness, and the Dharma is taught to those who are free from disease. For those sentient beings who are being led to slaughter and are in danger of their lives, through the power of miracles, other beings similar to them are emanated, and by thinking of them, they are liberated, and the Dharma is taught to those whose life breath has been extended. To those sentient beings who have damaged limbs, are without faculties, are unsightly, have no fearlessness, and whose minds are disheartened by their own bodies, through the power of miracles, they are made to possess all limbs, and then the Dharma is taught to those with beautiful forms. Even those sentient beings who dwell in the womb, who are foolish and live on impure substances, are subdued through the power of miracles, and they dwell in layered houses adorned with jewels within the womb itself, thereby inspiring their minds, and the Dharma is taught to them. Even those who are born but whose faculties are not fully developed, the Dharma is taught to children through manifestations of verbal actions by the power of miracles. The King of Transformations, the Bodhisattva, with such miraculous powers, teaches the Dharma with other inconceivable miracles. He teaches the Dharma to those sentient beings who are devoted to the moon and the sun...

For the sake of taming, in the immeasurable palaces of the moon and sun, they appear like the moon and sun, and also through the power of magical abilities, they hold the circles of the moon and sun and the three thousand great thousand worlds in their palms, and travel to boundless worlds. As they travel, they appear to move, but in reality, they do not move at all. If they wish, they can place Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River into a single pore and dwell in the Brahma world, and cast them into boundless worlds, yet it will not harm any sentient beings. And again, they remain as they are, and sentient beings do not know that they have been carried away or brought back. With a single breath, they can pacify kalpas of burning as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. By sitting in a single lotus posture, they can travel to Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. With two hands, they obscure the sun and moon, and having disparaged those Buddha-fields, they teach the Dharma. If the King of Transformations, the Bodhisattva, were to dwell before the Tathagata, if he wished, in order to make offerings to the Tathagata, he could scatter heaps of flowers like Mount Meru upon the body of the Tathagata, and as soon as those heaps of flowers are scattered, they would appear within the body of the Tathagata. In this three thousand great thousand world system, all the trees or grass that exist can be blessed as lamps and bathwater for the purpose of making offerings to the Tathagata, and they also burn and appear as rain of lamps and bathwater. Also, before all sentient beings, they show their own bodies, or show themselves as Indra, or show themselves as Brahma, or show themselves as Shravakas, or show themselves as Pratyekabuddhas, or show themselves as Buddhas, showing themselves in whatever form they prefer. The King of Transformations is the magical transformation of the Bodhisattvas' supernormal knowledge, such as: the divine eye seeing forms without obstruction, the divine ear hearing sounds without impediment, and the wisdom of knowing the minds and behaviors of all sentient beings without obstruction, and kalpas.
