And, to show the mind, conduct, and wisdom of all sentient beings, and to teach the Dharma according to their individual circumstances, to abide in a peaceful place, without elaboration, and if they have the conduct of past aspirations, then, son of the gods, such a Bodhisattva is a Shravaka. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, how does a Bodhisattva become a Pratyekabuddha? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, when a Bodhisattva knows that all phenomena are dependent on conditions, without sentient beings, without life, without personality, without a lord, and with the characteristic of abiding near to realization, and because he sees the conditions well, the conditions that lead to enlightenment are like this: all aspects of the perfections, aspects of the Dharmas of enlightenment, aspects of the four means of gathering, aspects of the four immeasurables, and aspects of direct knowledge, he truly accomplishes them, and this condition quickly accomplishes and does not rely on others, thereby realizing perfect and complete enlightenment, and he is disgusted with bad places, skilled in subduing temporary wisdom, well-established in the Great Vehicle, and all phenomena are manifest to him, then, son of the gods, such a Bodhisattva is a Pratyekabuddha. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, how does a Bodhisattva become a Buddha? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, when a Bodhisattva realizes that all phenomena are empty from the beginning, and realizes that all sentient beings are selfless from the beginning, and in order to realize names, he understands all inferior, superior, and intermediate behaviors, and understands all afflictions through the emptiness of his own afflictions, and in a single moment shows the sequential stages and various behaviors of realization, and teaches the Dharma according to the faculties and inclinations of sentient beings, and teaches the Dharma with results, then, son of the gods, such a Bodhisattva is a Buddha.
