is extremely distant and remote from those with characteristics. This path is abandoned by evil people. This path is followed by virtuous people. This path is followed by practitioners of yoga. This path is easy to traverse for those who diligently strive in accordance with the Dharma. This path is the true entry for those who abide in true seeing. This path is wide open to those who are diligent, without obstruction. This path is unobstructed for those who have truly gone and truly entered. This path is without the defilement of afflictions such as attachment, hatred, and ignorance. This path is pure because it is not extremely afflicted by all afflictions; therefore, it is called the Path of Purity. Lord of the Nagas, all those who have entered, are entering, and will enter this Path of Purity, all of them, because of the purity of the Dharmadhatu, subsequently realize the purity of self-nature. Because of the purity of self-nature, they subsequently realize the purity of the Dharmadhatu. Because of the purity of the Dharmadhatu, they subsequently realize the purity of all sentient beings' realms. Because of the purity of all sentient beings' realms, they subsequently realize the purity of the eye realm, and so on, up to the purity of the mind realm. Because of the purity of the mind realm, they subsequently realize the purity of the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Because of the purity of the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm, they subsequently realize the purity of the space realm. Because of the purity of the space realm, they subsequently realize the purity of all dharmas. Thus, this purity of the purity of space makes all dharmas equal. Therefore, the purity of space, the purity of all dharmas, and the purity of self, these three are non-dual, they are indivisible. With this non-dual purity, that path is pure; therefore, it is called the Path of Purity. Because there is no feeling in it, that path is without feeling, it is where the continuum of all feelings is cut off. There is also no feeling of Nirvana in it; therefore, it is called without feeling. That path is

Being devoid of mind, intellect, and consciousness, it has no thought of Dharma. Therefore, it is called the path of complete purification. When the Bhagavan had expounded this chapter on the merits of practicing the path of complete purification, twelve million crore (one hundred and twenty million) beings who had been completely tamed attained great forbearance. Then, the Naga king Anavatapta asked the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, how should a Bodhisattva practice the noble path? The Bhagavan replied: Lord of Nagas, here, a Bodhisattva who wishes to practice the noble path of complete purification should be skilled in the conduct of complete purification. He should make the body completely pure, and the speech and mind should also be completely pure. What is the complete purification of the body? It is to realize that one's own body is emptiness, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are emptiness; to realize that one's own body is secluded, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are secluded; to realize that one's own body is without substance, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are without substance; to realize that one's own body is immovable, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are immovable; to realize that one's own body is like an illusion, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are like an illusion; to realize that one's own body is completely pure, and thereby also realize that the bodies of all beings are completely pure. This is called the complete purification of the body. Lord of Nagas, furthermore, the complete purification of the body is to realize that one does not cling to the actions of the body. Regarding clinging to the actions of the body, one also recognizes that as clinging; regarding clinging and non-clinging, one treats them equally; regarding non-clinging and clinging, one also treats them equally. Therefore, one also fully understands the body, and also fully understands the nature of the body. What is the nature of the body? From the perspective of the past, non-arising is the nature; from the perspective of the future, non-cessation is the nature; when appearing in the present, it is the nature of being like an illusion. This is called the nature of the body. Furthermore, the nature of the body is the nature of the aggregation of causes and conditions. What are the causes and conditions? Because there is no mind, they are empty and immovable.
