Having caused all the houses in the three root places to shake violently, with many hundreds of thousands of servant gods, they came from the depths to the place where the Bhagavan was. They bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan and said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, I am Indra, the lord of the gods, ruling over the gods of the Thirty-three. In order to spread this Dharma category in Jambudvipa, I will diligently strive. How can I not harm those who speak the Dharma and those who hold this Sutra, and how can I obtain joy, supreme joy, and faith, and adorn them with the ornaments of the Dharma, so that this Dharma category, entering towns, cities, villages, regions, and the palaces of kings, will be widely expounded? I will protect, save, and conceal them with the Dharma. Bhagavan, we will go to those who speak the Dharma in order to listen to the Dharma. Even if we are scolded and reviled, we will accept it willingly. From all the harms caused by demonic obstacles, I will also protect, save, and conceal them." The Bhagavan said: " कौशिका (kauśika, कौशिका, kaushika, Kausika), how is it that you, having obtained the position of lord of the gods, have entered the position of lord of the Dharma? It is good, good that you roar the lion's roar in order to fully grasp the sacred Dharma of me and all the Buddhas! Why is that? कौशिका (kauśika, कौशिका, kaushika, Kausika), if one fully grasps the sacred Dharma of one Tathagata, one has fully grasped the sacred Dharma of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have appeared in the past, will appear in the future, and are appearing now." At that time, the Bhagavan again said to the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha: "Son of good family, listen to the words of summoning Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world. Listen, with what words of summoning will the great Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, abide in order to protect this Dharma category? Having heard this, together with sixty-eight hundred thousand Brahmās, he went to the Blessed One and prostrated his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat on one side. Having sat on one side, Brahmā, the lord of the Sahā world, said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, we are blessed by the blessings of the Tathāgata, and we are endowed with love and compassion. For the sake of protecting this Dharma category, we will diligently strive. Those who speak the Dharma, who gather such Buddhadharma and uphold this Sutra, or hold it, or recite it, or explain it, or even write it on a scroll and hold it, whether they are in a solitary place, or on a crossroads, or in a village, city, or town, or in a rural area, or in the royal palace courtyard, whether they speak the Dharma or not, if they widely expound this Dharma category, we will protect, guard, and conceal them. We will grant them joy, we will make their strength complete, and we will accomplish their mindfulness."

愿也！愿完全领受智慧！愿随悟后行！愿赐予勇气！愿不信者生信！愿已信者得度！世尊，如来之法，我等受持，广为流布，亦如是行。如是祈请已。世尊告须弥山主梵天曰：善哉！善哉！梵天，汝能受持圣法，如来随喜于汝。如我今所转，梵天，汝亦不久将能善转法轮。如汝今受持我之圣法，如是梵天，其他亦将受持汝之圣法。尔时，世尊告菩萨摩诃萨弥勒曰：弥勒，凡受持、读诵、书写，并为他人广为开示者，即是报答如来之恩，知恩图报，圆满自身之愿，清净增长众生之善根，使菩萨获得法光明，降伏一切魔，摧毁一切外道，受持真实之法，为使三宝之种不断绝，故经无数亿劫精进修持之无上正等菩提，今悉付嘱于汝。如是说已，菩萨弥勒白世尊言：世尊，我为如来入灭后，誓当守护此无上法宝藏。何以故？世尊，此乃我与过去、未来、现在诸佛世尊之圣法也。世尊，我住兜率天宫，当守护、受持如是经典，长久

May it be so! May I fully grasp wisdom! May I follow after realization! May courage be granted! May the non-believers believe! May the believers be liberated! O Bhagavan, may we uphold and widely spread the Dharma of the Tathagata, just as it is. Having thus entreated, the Bhagavan spoke to Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, saying: "Excellent! Excellent! Brahma, the Tathagata rejoices in you for upholding the sacred Dharma. Just as I am now turning it, Brahma, you too will soon be able to turn the wheel of Dharma excellently. Just as you now uphold my sacred Dharma, so too, Brahma, will others uphold your sacred Dharma." At that time, the Bhagavan spoke to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya, saying: "Maitreya, to the extent that one upholds, retains, reads, and extensively and correctly teaches others, one repays the kindness of the Tathagata, cultivates gratitude, fulfills one's own aspirations, purifies and increases the roots of virtue of sentient beings, enables Bodhisattvas to obtain the light of Dharma, subdues all demons, destroys all heretics, upholds the ultimate Dharma, and for the sake of ensuring that the lineage of the Three Jewels is not severed, I entrust to you this unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, which has been diligently cultivated for countless billions of eons." Having thus spoken, the Bodhisattva Maitreya said to the Bhagavan: "O Bhagavan, after the Parinirvana of the Tathagata, I vow to protect this unsurpassed treasure of Dharma. Why is that? O Bhagavan, this is the sacred Dharma of myself and of all the Buddhas, the Bhagavatans, of the past, future, and present. O Bhagavan, I dwell in the Tushita heaven, and I will protect and uphold such Sutras, for a long time.
