In that lifetime, he was reborn as a prince named "Victorious Wisdom," and King Fortune Adorned crowned him as king. Son of the lineage, His teachings were also so joyful and completely pure, becoming the abode of beings who generate roots of virtue. As many beings as generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, they also became non-retrogressing from enlightenment. When this story with past connections was taught, twelve myriads of beings generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Then, the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha asked the Blessed One, "Blessed One, what is the transcendental path of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas?" After asking this, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha, "Son of the lineage, the path of the Bodhisattvas is the six perfections, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, calm abiding, insight, the four means of gathering, the four dhyanas, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, and the five superknowledges. Son of the lineage, this is called the transcendental path of the Bodhisattvas. The world is the five aggregates. Therefore, the Bodhisattva, knowing form to be impermanent, gives charity. Knowing form to be suffering, he gives charity. He knows form to be without self. He knows form to be peaceful. He knows form to be emptiness. He knows form to be without characteristics. He knows form to be without wishes. He knows form to be without manifestation. He knows form to be unborn. He knows form to be non-existent. He knows form to be dependently originated. He knows form to be solitary. He knows form to be ungraspable. He knows form to be without a basis. He knows form to be without arising. He knows form to be like an illusion. He knows form to be like a dream. He knows form to be like a mirage. He knows form to be like the moon in water. He knows form to be like an echo in a valley. He knows form to be like an eye disease. He knows form to be like an image. He knows form to be like grass, trees, walls, roads, and eye disease.

Having known, one gives alms. Through the Suchness of form, one enters the Suchness of giving. Through the Suchness of giving, one understands the Suchness of dedication. Through the Suchness of dedication, [one understands] the Suchness of enlightenment. Through the Suchness of enlightenment, [one understands] the Suchness of sentient beings. Through the Suchness of sentient beings, [one understands] the Suchness of self. Through the Suchness of self, one understands the Suchness of all dharmas. That which is the Suchness of all dharmas is without Suchness; it is the non-erroneous Suchness, the non-other Suchness. Having understood Suchness, one gives alms. This almsgiving, son of lineage, is the path of the Bodhisattva that transcends the world. Likewise, having known feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness to be impermanent, one gives alms. Having known consciousness to be suffering and selfless, having known consciousness to be peaceful, having known consciousness to be empty, having known consciousness to be signless, having known consciousness to be wishless, having known consciousness to be non-manifesting, having known consciousness to be unborn, having known consciousness to be unarisen, having known consciousness to be dependently originated, one gives alms. Having known consciousness to be secluded, having known consciousness to be without grasping, having known consciousness to be without alaya, having known consciousness to be non-arising, having known consciousness to be like an illusion, having known consciousness to be like a dream, having known consciousness to be like a mirage, having known consciousness to be like a moon in water, having known consciousness to be like an optical illusion, having known consciousness to be like a reflection, having known consciousness to be the nature of non-discriminating consciousness, one gives alms. Therefore, through the Suchness of consciousness, one understands the Suchness of giving. Through the Suchness of giving, one [understands] the Suchness of dedication. That which is all
