What is the recollection of the Buddha? It is like this: to remember that Tathagata. Like this, he is the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, Tamer of beings, unsurpassed, teacher of gods and humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, endowed with the thirty-two major marks of a great person, and a body like the color of gold. Like a golden image, shining, bright, and well-established, like a precious stupa, extremely adorned. In the community of Shravakas, he also teaches the Dharma, and in no way is it wasted, thus he teaches. What is not wasted? Earth is not wasted. Water, fire, wind, elements, gods, Brahmins, and the lord of beings are not wasted. Form is not wasted. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are not wasted. He does not become arrogant towards the Tathagata, does not cling, does not become attached, does not truly know, does not think, does not discriminate, does not truly see. Therefore, by remembering the Tathagata without clinging, obtaining the Samadhi of emptiness, this is called the recollection of the Buddha. That Bodhisattva cultivates that Samadhi, abides in that Samadhi, and arises from that Samadhi. Well-protected, wherever you go, go there, and after going, proclaim this Samadhi. Well-protected, you must in every way teach the Dharma to that Bodhisattva, so that he does not turn back from the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. I say to him, that person in the future will become a Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, gaining courage, named "Courage Gainer." Well-protected, you yourself and the great Elder Kashyapa, and the Bodhisattva Power-Given, and the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, and any other Bodhisattvas who have obtained this Samadhi, are empowered by this Samadhi. Well-protected, in the past, there was a person in a solitary place

Having gone to a wilderness, he became hungry and thirsty, and overwhelmed by drowsiness and sleep, he fell asleep. In a dream, he found much food and drink. Having found them, he ate and drank as much as he pleased, and his hunger and thirst disappeared. When he awoke, his body and stomach were not full. He thought to himself: 'There is a dharma like a dream.' Having realized this, he obtained forbearance in the dharma of non-arising. And he will not turn back from unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Good Guardian, similarly, a bodhisattva, whether a householder or a renunciant, whichever direction he hears that the Tathagata resides, in that direction he should remember the Tathagata, and he will obtain the sight of the Buddha. He should not regard it as a perception of objects, but as a perception of the sky. He dwells intensely in the perception of the sky and intensely remembers the perception of the Buddha. Then, like the body of the Tathagata made of vaidurya, that good bodhisattva will see it directly. That bodhisattva will see such a Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly and completely enlightened Buddha. Good Guardian, for example, a person goes from his birthplace to another region, and when he leaves, he remembers his birthplace, remembering the dharmas he has seen, heard, known, and realized, and because he is drowsy and sleepy, he falls asleep. In a dream, he returns to his birthplace and knows that he is there. He also sees the things he has seen, heard, distinguished, and recognized before. He goes and returns there. When he wakes up, he says to his relatives, friends, close relatives, and in-laws: 'I have been there, I have seen these things, I have experienced those things there.' Good Guardian, similarly, a bodhisattva mahasattva, whether a householder or a renunciant, whichever direction he hears that the Tathagata resides
