In mountains, valleys, and rivers, Just as echoes arise from rocks due to conditions, Likewise, understand all these conditioned things, The entire world is like illusions and mirages. Wherever this peaceful samadhi is taught, The power of wisdom is the quality transformed into Dharma. The righteous one knows it through the power of wisdom, The words are the definitive words of skillful means. It is spoken after being examined only through investigation. There is no end to samsara, Those that occurred before, their end has no characteristics. In order to know the future time, Through actions and deeds, thus entered, There will also be occurrence of beginning and end. Dharmas are always solitary and empty in nature, Also know that everything is without self. The Victorious One teaches the Dharma in conventional truth, Look at the conditioned and the unconditioned in that way. In ultimate truth, there is no self and no non-self, The characteristics of all beings are like that. Virtuous and evil actions do not perish, Those done by oneself will be experienced. The result of actions does not transfer, Nor will it be experienced without a cause. All existence is illusion, without autonomy, Like bubbles that gather and dissipate. Always empty like illusions and mirages, It is taught by sound, those are solitary. Thus, consciousness is without arrogance, Also, the mind is without attachment to discipline. With the power of patience, one does not conceptualize even slightly, Thus, conduct will be established in equanimity. How much Dharma that king understood, That much the Victorious One taught. Having heard this Dharma of the Victorious One, the king, Together with his retinue, properly took up the precepts. Having heard this samadhi, the king's son, Rejoiced and exclaimed these words: This samadhi has been taught very well, I prostrate at your feet! There, also eighty thousand beings, Having heard this definitive teaching of the true meaning, Having heard this excellent nature of Dharma, They obtained the patience of non-arising. For a person, there is no birth and no cessation, Likewise, this Dharma is always solitary from the beginning. Thus, knowing well, one does not regress, The king obtained the patience of non-arising. At that time, the king completely renounced the kingdom, And went forth into the teachings of that Victorious One.

The king's sons were also five hundred, not few. All of them subsequently went forth. After the king and his sons went forth, At that time, many sentient beings, thousands upon thousands, Also went forth in the presence of the Sugata. They sought the dharmas from that Victorious One. For a full twenty centuries, That Victorious One extensively taught the dharmas. The king, together with his sons and the people, Also practiced the dharmas for twenty centuries. Then, when the time changed, That Victorious One also completely passed into nirvana. The Shravakas of the Victorious One also passed away, His dharmas also became scarce. At that time, that king had a son, With merit, wisdom, faith, and joy, In his house, there was a close monk, He taught this peaceful samadhi. He was gentle and soft, Honored by hundreds of thousands of sentient beings. Also, hundreds of millions of gods followed, Coming to the city and uttering praises. He possessed mindfulness and understanding, His conduct was excellent, and he delighted in morality, His voice was melodious, not harsh but gentle, He fully attained the supreme power of knowing the realms. That monk was called Sweet Light, And he also obtained hundreds of millions of Dharma robes. Because his power of merit was unbearable, At that time, a thousand monks arose with jealousy. With the power of merit, the power of form, And the power of wisdom, the power of miracles, Also the power of morality, the power of samadhi, And the power of Dharma, the monk was exceedingly superior. He was pleasing and beloved to the people, The monks, lay practitioners, and nuns, Whatever sentient beings had faith in the Victorious One's teachings, They would offer and honor him. The king's son appeared there, With merit, wisdom, and constant faith, Realizing that many monks were disturbed, He arranged for protection for that teacher. Five hundred thousand sentient beings, Wearing armor, holding swords and clubs, They constantly surrounded that monk, Teaching and speaking of limitless correct conduct. He extensively taught the dharmas to the retinue, Teaching this Dharma as selfless, empty, and lifeless, Looking at the object as self.
