When you see, how did you not see that I am also coming to retaliate now? So I taught him this verse: "Do not investigate disagreements with others." Now, great king, please purify the great poison of the karmic deeds of killing my father that I have committed! Do not contemplate the faults of other kings, understand it like that! I also said that disagreements should also be investigated, and whatever relies on discipline and rituals, one should strive to investigate those faults, because that is the Buddha's teaching. Those who contemplate the disagreements of others should know that what they and others have done and not done belongs to themselves and others. In this way, those who always correctly see what others have done are my Shravaka disciples, I say. Then, the Bhagavan again said to Manjushri Kumara, "Punishment makes all afraid, and life is precious to all. It should be measured from one's own experience, do not strike, do not kill." Then, Manjushri Kumara said to the Bhagavan, "Punishment does not make all afraid, and life is not cherished by all. It should be measured from one's own experience, and one should understand to act with skillful means." Therefore, it is not appropriate for the Bhagavan to proclaim the Dharma gate in this way, because Arhats and Chakravartins, as well as elephants, precious women, and precious householders, horses, etc., cannot be harmed in any way. For these, in the world including gods, humans, and asuras, no one can successfully cause harm, even powerful enemies cannot harm them. They are not even afraid of gods, demons, and Brahma. Therefore, I say that these beings cannot be harmed in any way. Those who are brave alone on the battlefield, and wives who are always not confused with the family, as well as lions, and Sindhu horses, and monks with discipline, these will be harmed, in any way.

It is fearless. So, the meaning of saying "everything is afraid of punishment" is: here there is a remaining meaning, so it is a brief statement. "Measure from my experience," that sentence also has a remaining meaning, because Arhats are not equal to me. It is said in the world like this. If it is said that Arhats have the consciousness of self, or that Arhats have the consciousness of life, then such small-minded people put Arhats in a bad situation. By doing so, the result of being deluded by the evil view of the consciousness of life will quickly lead to rebirth in Avici hell. In short, even if the mind of killing Arhats arises, those beings cannot kill them. Even if many beings do evil, they cannot kill them. The Blessed One said: For the sake of loving beings, one should regard them as oneself. Arhats should be regarded as immeasurable and incomparable in a harmless way, and one should not generate the mind of killing them. In this way, the Buddha does not speak words that contradict the meaning without reason. This verse was told starting from the hunter in Rajagriha hunting deer. After he killed the deer, he invited me to enjoy the offering of food with meat. I also agreed to his invitation. In the manner of Rahu swallowing the sun and moon, he said this verse: Everything is afraid of punishment, everyone cherishes life. Measure from my experience, do not beat, do not kill. Look far into the future and live long. Understand the meaning of the sign of harmlessness. Among the Bodhisattvas, Manjushri, the lion among men, is good! good! It is very good to ask this question for the benefit of all sentient beings! After that, the Blessed One, who had become the youthful Manjushri, said in verse form: In the manner of offering to the mother, offering to both parents, and also respecting the guru, how can one fall into the fear of Avici hell? After that, the Blessed One in verse

Thus he spoke. Here, craving is called mother, and ignorance is called father. Whoever worships these two, will go to the fear of Avīci hell. Then, the Blessed One again spoke this verse to Mañjuśrī, who had become a youth: All who are under the control of others are miserable; all who have autonomy are happy. All who are under the control of pride are inexhaustible; all joys are good. Then, Mañjuśrī, who had become a youth, said to the Blessed One: The Dharma gate that the Blessed One has spoken thus is not well spoken. Here, if a householder entrusts his child to a teacher of children, is that child not called under the control of others? If it is said that he is not under the control of others, it contradicts the meaning; if it is said that he has autonomy, it also contradicts the meaning. This Dharma is very difficult to fathom. Here, if a prince becomes incorrigible, and does not learn anything, wandering around according to his own desires and indulging himself, to call him autonomous would be a great contradiction to the meaning; to say that he is under the control of others would not contradict the meaning. This Dharma is very difficult to fathom. Furthermore, the euphemism of being "under control" is that if he is autonomous, he will commit evil and fall. Therefore, this statement has a residual meaning. Therefore, not all who are under the control of others are miserable, nor are all who have autonomy happy. "All who are under the control of pride are inexhaustible," this also has a residual meaning, for not all who are under the control of pride are inexhaustible. Here, what if someone renounces due to pride? Is that renunciate to be called under the control of pride, and all inexhaustible? He is actually without pride, endowed with merit, endowed with discipline and rituals, and guards his senses. Therefore, not all who are under the control of pride are inexhaustible. "All joys are good," this also has a residual meaning, for not all joys are good.
