Furthermore, they arranged countless incense, flowers, banners, umbrellas, and other offerings, filling the sky like clouds. They held each other's hands, beat their chests, and the sound of wailing shook the great void. They placed these before the Tathagata and made offerings with the offering items. At that time, the many attendants only sobbed and wept. In order to show respect, they each lifted the body of the Tathagata with pieces of white cloth, placed it in the iron coffin, poured in fragrant oil, and then sealed the coffin. At that time, all the men and women of the city of Kushinagar, wishing for merit and wishing for the virtues of the Tathagata, did not allow the gods, humans, and many attendants to carry the Tathagata's coffin. After everyone discussed it, they decided to have four unparalleled great strongmen carry it. The four strongmen took off their clothes and ornaments and entered the city to carry the Tathagata's coffin.
