Innumerable hundreds of thousands, those who are extremely afflicted and tormented by disease, all without exception are eliminated. The Bhagavan has long been free from disease, therefore he became the last of the seven Buddhas. Now, having rained down the rain of Dharma in this place, please moisten the seeds of our merits. Thus, the retinue of gods and humans, having made such a request, remained silent. At the time of reciting these verses, all the Buddhas residing on lotuses, from Jambudvipa to the Pure Abodes, all heard it. Then, the Bhagavan praised the Bodhisattva Light Holder, saying: "Well done! Well done! Son of good family, because you possess such profound wisdom, all demons and heretics cannot destroy you. Son of good family, because you dwell in such great happiness, the winds of all evil views cannot shake you. Son of good family, because you possess such fearless individual perfect knowledge, it is because you have made offerings to immeasurable, countless Buddhas, Bhagavat, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges in the past. Thus, you have asked the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, about these meanings. Son of good family, for a long time, for immeasurable, boundless, countless billions of hundreds of thousands of kalpas, I will also abandon lying down in laziness due to being separated from the object of disease. Light Holder, in the past, countless immeasurable kalpas ago, at that time, there was a Buddha Bhagavan named Supreme Victory King, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, the Knower of the World, the unsurpassed one, the tamer of beings, the charioteer, the teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha Bhagavan, manifested in the world, and extensively explained and taught this Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra to the Shravakas, causing them to understand its meaning. At that time, I also became a Shravaka of that Buddha, and having memorized this Great Parinirvana Sutra, I read it, recited it, understood its meaning, wrote it in books, and extensively explained it to others.

Having made explanations and demonstrations, etc., that very root of virtue is also dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and correct enlightenment. Son of the lineage, from that time on, he has never fallen into the lower realms due to the karma of sinful afflictions. He has never taken a body with wrong views by slandering the sacred Dharma, or as a dwarf, or as one without faculties, or as a hermaphrodite. He has never committed the five inexpiable deeds of killing one's father and mother, killing an arhat, destroying a stupa, causing dissension in the sangha, drawing blood from the body of a Buddha with malicious intent, and actions that violate the four root vows. From that time on, his body and mind have become exceedingly happy, and he has not been tormented by suffering. O Light-Protector, I truly have no illnesses at all. Why is that? Because the Buddha, the Bhagavan, has long since completely abandoned all illnesses. O Light-Protector, ordinary individuals, because they do not understand the meaning spoken with insight from the greatly expanded Great Vehicle, think that the Tathagata is truly ill. O Light-Protector, the saying that the Tathagata is a lion among men is also such that the Tathagata is truly not a lion, but it should be understood that saying so is spoken by the Tathagata with insight. O Light-Protector, the saying that the Tathagata is a great naga among men is also such that I have completely abandoned those actions for immeasurable eons. O Light-Protector, regarding this, some say that the Tathagata is a man or a god, but in reality, I am neither a man nor a god, not a yaksha, not a gandharva, not an asura, not a garuda, not a kinnara, not a mahoraga, not self, not life, not livelihood, not powerful, not the lord of power, not done, not undone, not feeling, not unfeeling, not Bhagavan, not a shravaka, not speaking, not non-speaking, it should be understood that all these are spoken by the Tathagata with insight. O Light-Protector, regarding this, some also say that the Tathagata is like an ocean or like Mount Meru, but in reality, the Tathagata does not taste salty.
