Each vehicle also has flower garlands hanging on it, such as: utpala flowers, kumuda flowers, lotus flowers, and pundarika flowers, with petals made of gold and stamens made of vajra. Black bees fly and play in those stamens. In addition, there are very pleasant sounds, as well as the sounds of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. In addition to these, there are also the sounds of the practices of bodhisattvas in the past, as well as the sounds of various kinds of musical instruments, such as: songs, dances, flutes, nine-stringed lutes, lutes, harps, and drums.

There was. On that high platform were piled various kinds of flowers, like this: utpala flowers, kumuda flowers, lotus flowers, pundarika flowers, saffron, scented ointment, incense, and so on, displaying extremely excellent and unparalleled offerings. The devotees prepared various kinds of alms for the Buddha and the Sangha, all burned with fragrant woods such as sandalwood and agarwood, and cooked with water possessing eight qualities. Those foods also had six flavors. Like this: sweet, sour, savory, spicy, salty, and bitter. In addition, they also had three qualities: soft and smooth, clean, and made according to the Dharma. After arranging various kinds of offerings like this, they arrived at the sala tree, the birthplace of the mighty one. Furthermore, the ground was covered with golden sand, and celestial garments such as kacalinda, kambala, and silk were spread on it, covering an area of twelve yojanas all around. Jeweled lion thrones of seven kinds were arranged for the Buddha and the Sangha to sit on, and those thrones were as high as Mount Sumeru. Jeweled canopies were erected above those thrones, and many necklaces were hung. Various kinds of banners were also hung on those sala trees, umbrellas were hung, and the trees were anointed with various fragrant incense pastes. The spaces between the trees were also filled with various kinds of flowers. Those devotees each thought in their hearts: If anyone is troubled by hunger for food, give them food; if anyone is troubled by thirst for drink, give them drink; give heads to those who want heads; give eyes to those who want eyes. In this way, for each person, all donations were given according to what they desired. That kind of giving was also without greed, hatred, ignorance, and afflicted mind. Apart from that, there was no thought for the sake of worldly enjoyment, but only for the sake of the unsurpassed, completely pure Bodhi. Those devotees, abiding happily in unsurpassed Bodhi, thought again like this.
