will abide. Mañjuśrī, furthermore, after the Tathāgata has passed into complete nirvāṇa, in the final age, the final time, when the sacred Dharma is about to utterly perish, if a bodhisattva-mahāsattva wishes to thoroughly expound this category of Dharma, he is abiding in ease. He abides in ease and teaches the Dharma. Whether it is on his body, or made into a book, or even if he teaches it to others, he is not by nature one who seeks faults. He does not slander other Dharma-speaking monks. He does not speak unpleasant words. He does not utter unpleasant words. He does not speak unpleasant words, mentioning the names of other monks of the Hearer Vehicle. He does not speak unpleasant words, and he does not think of opposing them. Why is that? Because he abides in a place of ease. He teaches the Dharma to those who have come and gathered to listen to the Dharma, benefiting them and without jealousy. He does not argue, and even if questions are asked, he does not answer with the Hearer Vehicle, but answers in such a way that he will quickly awaken to the knowledge of the Buddha. Then the Bhagavan spoke these verses at that time: The wise will always abide in ease, Sitting there, he will also teach the Dharma. In a clean and pleasing place, A wide seat is well arranged and spread out, Well adorned with beautiful colors, That pure Dharma robe is well worn, The black antelope skin is arranged in the same way, The large hem is well and properly worn, Various kinds of precious cloths are well spread out, Sitting on a throne with footrests, Having washed his feet well and ascended, The radiance of his head and face is very smooth, Having sat well on that Dharma seat, To the gathered beings who are single-minded, He will closely show many kinds of speech. To the monks and nuns, And to the laymen and laywomen, And even to the kings and princes, Being wise and always without jealousy, He will also speak various meaningful and pleasant words. At that time, they will ask him questions, He will thoroughly explain the meanings that are appropriate to them. How will enlightenment be attained by hearing? In that way, he will thoroughly explain the nature of the meaning. Also

Having abandoned clamor, one should not generate thoughts of sorrow. A wise person should completely abandon all displeasure, and cultivate the power of loving-kindness towards the retinue. Day and night, one should diligently cultivate the supreme Dharma. That wise person, for example, with billions and trillions, Causes the retinue to rejoice and likewise causes joy. For them, there is never any slight desire. Food and drink, edibles and chewables, Clothing and bedding, Dharma robes and so forth, And even nourishing medicines for illness, they do not think about, Nor do they ask anything of the retinue. Furthermore, the wise person always wishes that they themselves and these sentient beings may attain Buddhahood. Whatever Dharma is taught for the benefit of the world, they think of as all the means to their own happiness. If any bhikshu, after my nirvana, without jealousy, well proclaims this, Then they will be without suffering and without obstacles, and never will there be any disturbance of sorrows. No one will frighten them, nor will there be beatings or unpleasant speech. They will never be expelled, and thus they will abide in the power of patience. That wise person who always abides in happiness, abiding as I have said, Billions of qualities arise in hundreds of ways, and they cannot be fully described even in hundreds of kalpas. Manjushri, furthermore, after the Tathagata has fully passed into nirvana, at the time of the final decline of the holy Dharma, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who holds this sutra will be without jealousy, deceit, or pretense. They will not speak unpleasant words to other individuals of the Bodhisattva vehicle, nor will they slander or despise them. They will not cause bhikshus, bhikshunis, upasakas, or upasikas, those of the Shravaka vehicle, or the Pratyekabuddha vehicle, or other Bodhisattva vehicle practitioners to feel regret, saying: "Sons of good family, you are far from unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment, you do not appear there. You abide in extreme carelessness, you do not have the power to manifestly and completely awaken to the wisdom of the Tathagatas." They will not cause any Bodhisattva vehicle practitioner to have doubts. They will not delight in arguing about the Dharma, nor will they argue about the Dharma. They will not despise the power of loving-kindness towards all sentient beings. They
