Among the three vehicles, what is taught? My skillful means are just like this, The vehicle is one, likewise the Dharma is also one, Thus the guides teach one. Whoever has doubts here, Abandon doubts and hesitations, Do not speak elsewhere, the guides of the world, This vehicle is one, there is no second. Whatever Tathāgatas of the past have appeared, A thousand Buddhas or those who have completely passed into Nirvāṇa, In the past times, in countless kalpas, Their measure, which will never come, All those noble beings, With examples, bases, causes, and completeness, With hundreds of skillful means, Those who have well-explained the pure Dharmas, All of them show one vehicle, Limitless hundreds of thousands of kotis of sentient beings, Also well lead into the one vehicle, And cause them to mature in the one vehicle. Knowing their inclinations and such thoughts, The Tathāgata, in the world including the gods, With many other victorious means, Whoever well teaches this supreme Dharma, Whatever sentient being directly from there, Hears the Dharma or possesses hearing, Gives charity, practices morality, Practices patience, accomplishes everything, Makes effort, meditation especially, Whoever contemplates this Dharma with wisdom, Whoever performs merit in various ways, All of them will attain enlightenment. Those victorious ones who have passed into Nirvāṇa, Whatever sentient being enters into that teaching, Whoever is patient, peaceful, and tamed there, All of them will attain enlightenment.
